What is Happiness?

It gets harder to describe happiness as you grow older. As a senior citizen, happiness is no longer seen as something spontaneous. what I get these days are good feelings of casual contentment. There is no great breakout of immense joy or bouts of spontaneous outpourings. I remembered when I was young, getting a new shirt for a festive occasion was something exceedingly satisfying and certainly of unbridled joy. I missed those feelings. Will they ever come back?

Happiness means not only you are happy for a time being. Happiness means you are sharing your joy with other laughing with other and smile on your face in every situation good or bad. Not only good feeling is happiness. Positive thinking is most useful to make happy to the people

Yes, thank you for your thoughts. Happiness is all enabling and wholesome. It may not mean there is an absence of temporary sad episodes in our life but generally life can be seen as happy, if on balance, we have more of the good times than the bad. My wish is that we all find happiness in whatever we do and wherever we are.
