http://www.justnews.com/family/27055773/detail.html Five stray puppies were taken in to an Oklahoma City area animal shelter. Unless I missed it. nothing said indicates the length of time between when the little guy was taken in & when he was administered what was to be his fatal shot. That shot occurred on Friday. The officer in charge gave this puppy 2 shots...one in the leg & another in his little heart...to make sure he was going to die. The officer goes into work the next morning & this little fella is prancing around on top of the dead carcasses in the trash can where they were all thrown. He was looking up forgivingly into the eyes of the officer who had tried to kill him!!! One kind lady has sent a check for $100 so he can be boarded for a week to give them time to adopt out this little guy. Now people from all over are clamoring to adopt this little guy who just REFUSED to die!!! I don't know how anyone could look into these eyes & administer the shot of death!!! He has temporarily been named Wall-e. I think he should be named Lazarus since he rose from the dead!!! What are your thoughts on little Lazarus???

unfortunetly thats how things work at a shelter puppys, dogs, cats and kittens are euthanized by the 100's everyday and yea quite a few do survive the euthanisa if its not administered properly. People always come forward in numbers to adopt the animals in the paper but were are the the other 364 days of the year to adopt the other 100's of animals who have to die because of lack of space and irisponable owners

God bless the shelter where you work!!! I don't believe there is such a thing as an aggressive dog...I think they just haven't found the right owner yet!!!! I've NEVER met a dog I couldn't spoil rotten within 24 hours...even Pit Bulls love me!!!!

The shelter i currently work at is a no kill shelter thank god the only time something is euthaized (which we take to a vet) is when a vet says the animal is suffering or is so aggressive it is a danger to the public (although we have found some suitable trainers who have fostered some of these dogs) I'm grateful i don't have to see animals dying and i'm grateful for our amazing turnaround rate with dogs as 75% are adopted out within 2 weeks of coming to our shelter. I wish we could move cats just as fast but we do still move them and if they don't get adopted right away they stick around until they do

Yes, it just wasn't his day to go!!! He must have a specific purpose in this world!!! I would think that everybody whose life is touched by this little fella will feel his specialness!!!
