Green on the train!

Ok, so I am getting ready to take a trip and I will be riding the train (Amtrak) and I am wondering if you get searched at the station, or if you they have dogs or something that can smell you?
like if I get a sleeper cabin then I will be drinking all the way down there, but do they search you before you get on or your luggage?

Searching the railways stations with dogs in India is a security issue.
And we have to help to the police.
And at the same time, we have be careful while we are talking with unknown persons.
But i have never experienced this situation practically.

I don't know what its like over there. Why do you have to be careful of strangers? Is there a lot of crime over there?
