its so funny to say my dog farts and it smells like...(only God knows))It was a faithful day.i was in the room trying to read my book on a chair. suddenly my dog came, jumped on the seat beside me and sat down.i rubbed its head played with it for some minutes and continued wiv my reading.suddenly i noticed he fell on me,only to discover MY DOG WAS DOZING!!!...i looked around, called its name and i continued reading my books and the next thing,i heard a sound....prrrrrrrrrrrrr....i turned and it opened its eyes and continued sleeping(still in sitting position)....before u could say "jack robinson"...there was a foul smell everywhere....i didnt know what to do...i laughed so loud and i shooed it away to go and sleep instead of dozing and falling on me...has this ever happened to you and ur dog????i mean are u guys that close??it somehow funny and sounds weird....believe me ...no exaggeration on every single thing...what do u think?...has something similar ever happened to u.

I totally know what you mean. All of our dogs pretty much stink. But Maggie and Goldie are the worst!!!! (Sam mostly just has horrid breath! lol). Maggie is the gassiest dog you will ever meet! And they always smell SO BAD! It's pretty much indescribable, it's kind of like torture, having to sit in a room that Maggie just farted in. She toots when shes asleep or awake. Goldie's farts also smell really bad, but she doesn't do it as often.

Forgot to mention something really funny. Maggie has actually chased HERSELF out of a room before. I swear! She tooted, looked at her butt (she does that a lot), then when the smell reached her she got up and left the room! Ahaha! You know it's bad when the dog can't handle it's own stench!

Not my dog, but my in-law's dog would fart every time he'd go for a ride in the car. I remember taking him to the vet once, years ago. He farted all the way there and back! And here it was about a 25 minute drive one way! Oh, was the smell awful, even with the windows rolled down! Way worse than human farts. LOL Needless to say he didn't go on may car trips because of it. LOL Happy mylotting!

Hello Bibispark, There is nothing so special about dogs farting. This is something natural, they don't know how to refrain from doing this, like humans do. I think it was more amusing the fact that he was dozing and falling on you. I find that it is nice when dogs feel the need to take a nap near their masters. The dog that I had before used to fart, but not so often. She used to have such an innocent face when this happened, as if she said "Who, me? I didn't do anything!" Such accidents haven't happened with the dog that I have now. I think the diet is what makes the difference. Maybe you should change your dog's diet, too, to avoid such embarassing moments.

Hello dear, Even while reading your discussion, I am laughing because similar thing happened with me also. Last winters my dog used to sleep with me in my blanket and while sleeping he would fart. Not knowing that a dog could also fart, I would scold my son who also was sleeping with me during those days. One day my son was sleeping in his room and there again was that foul smell. Then I realised that it was my dog who was the culprit. Next morning I rang his doctor who prescribed to give him one spoon of gelocin (antacid). After that doze of medicine my dog was alright. I suggest u too should try to give some sort of antacid to yr dog.

I absolutely believe in that, got dogs for many years and I prove that. It happens when my dog and I are lying in bed, and I smell a foul smell but didn't hear a sound. My auntie also told me that my dog farts on near her face and I couldn't help but laugh. Another incidents happened when me and my puppy sleeping, he's bottom is hear my face and I awake by a very foul odor, it happened I think twice and when I woke up to open the switch, I step on his pooh, the same smell as her fart. My bf always accuse me of farting, but I didn't do that. My dogs were lying underneath the wood chair that we are sitting so I suspect it was my dog . They really do fart .

Hi Bibispark2 No nothing similar like this has ever happened to me lol, my thinking though is that something did not agree with your dogs tummy. Maybe a change in diet might be beneficial.

I have a Black Lab and a Jack Russell Terrier... I think they have a farting contest! The smell is unbearable... We (my wife and I) are bad about feeding them table scraps (chicken, roast beef, etc.). They love to sleep on the couch with us at night and that is when it gets the worst... All I can suggest is some Lysol or Frebreeze... Good Luck!
