What Would you Include in a Time Capsule?

I have just sealed an A4-sized envelope that - in a couple of days - is to be placed in a time capsule that will be buried for 25 years. It was quite an undertaking to actually decide what I should - and should not - include. But I got there in the end. I first wrote letters to my immediate family members, and enclosed some recent photographs. I then wrote a letter to myself, addressing where I would like to be and what I would like to be doing in the period between now and 2035. I also included a couple of pages regarding current events, my favourite tv shows, the price of fuel, etc. Finally, I enclosed some personal items that reflect my hobbies and interests, some samples of my writing and drawing, and some local pamphlets. What would you place in a time capsule that was not going to be opened for a quarter of a century?

I have old cell phone, who still working, in this phone are my old sms from my important people, I put this phone. Then I photograph my city and put in this photo too (very interesting as the city will look like later). And yet, I insert newspaper with date, which would be equal to the capsule insertion. Even if, after time the capsule is not for me, it would be interesting to anyone.

The old cell phone is a wonderful idea! It'd be very interesting to see just how small they've become in 25 years from now. The newspaper is another great idea. If I hadn't already sealed my envelope, I would have included a paper, myself. I wonder what'll be making headlines in a quarter of a century...

The project is interesting. Once, nature was more respected, even if no pollution. People ate more natural foods. In time, man has removed about nature, foods contain many chemicals and therefore I think in time that the box should be made clean fruits and vegetables, natural, recipes, pictures or videos about how people spend their time in the middle nature.

Your ecologically-themed idea is a great one! Ironically, the time capsule - which was buried a few hours ago - has been laid to rest amid a vast array of bushland; and is marked by a single bench and its plaque. It will be interesting to see just how much bushland, if any, still exists in 2035.

I've been thinking about putting together a time capsule as well. I'm planning on burying mine in my back yard somewhere in the hopes that someday, whoever will live in my house years from now will find it. One thing I want and plan on putting in it whenever that happens is a photobook I'll make on Snapfish. It'll include pictures of my house as it is on that particular day. Pictures of the outside and of all the different rooms in it. I'll also include pictures of myself, my family, and cat. I'll include a letter as well kind of telling about different stuff. One of the reasons I wanted to do all of this is because not only were we the very first people to live in the house we live now, but we were also the very first people to live on our street as well. So I thought it would be kind of nice to bury a time capsule for people to find from the people who first lived here. The thought that, say, fifty years from now someone else could be living in this house is something I find interesting to think abouty. What events will have passed in this house, who will live here, etc.

Hi Holesworth, Well lets say I am in a position to put things in a time capsule, then it has to be buried deep in the earth so when future generation would dig the area they would find it, say 10,000 years from now one. I would like to put a book on me in that which would tell people how good I was ( it has to be all lies) so it would show once upon a time there was a warrior king who ruled this part of the world from this year to that year and he fought many wars and how good ruler he was and things like that. I know none is truth in this but then it is all fantasies and if you want to fantasies about time capsule then why limit your fantasy.
