HJsplit not recognising the files to be joined?

hi friends. seems i made a huge mistake.there is this video which is about 600 MB big so i had theother option of downloading the split version ( 250,250 & 160 MB ). the guy who split the file mentioned about using hjsplit for joining files. so downloaded hjsplit. just for fun i went to the split section and found all 3 downloaded files. but when i went to the join section and browsed for my failed,they were not there. it seemed that not only i is having the problem. but all answer i saw is rename file,change extension. heck i even went back to the site and its clearly shows zip5.zip.001 and so on even with checksums. but hjsplit not recognising these files. help needed.
