It's graduation time at last...

When you are in school, you are so busy finishing a course that you have no time to get educated. Real learning takes place after you are gone from your campus. You have perhaps acquired your education at a tremendous sacrifice on the part of your parents or whoever had the responsibility in paying you school fees. Today, thousands of graduates had been produced by different schools and universities. Finding work is now the thought of every graduate.

I agree with you Ermie. I'm one of the thousands of students who will be graduating this school year 2011. Most in my batch have no worries if we will be graduating this year or not despite that we haven't take our final examination yet, I think we will all be graduating and receiving our Diploma by the end of April. What bothers as the most though is the upcoming licensure examination that we have to take for us to be able to practice the chosen field we took and we studied for 4 years. The pressure is too much because they expected a lot from our batch. I hope we wouldn't fail them and hopefully acquire a high rating if not a 100% passing rate in one of the major examination of our life. I think having to go through a lot in order to finish not only our course but our studies is the time we started getting educated, that is from our primary years up to the tertiary level. I have acquired real learning too in school and this learnings are very vital so that I could survive what the world outside the campus would throw at me. What we learned in the four corners of our classroom and in our practical classes in special areas depending on our specialty prepares us so that we could maximize the real learning you are referring to when one leaves the campus. The real learning is actually the application of the different theories, concept, ideas and skills we absorbed while we listen to most of the boring classes delivered by our mentors that we have to go through. I think being in school is vital to one's educational process. You couldn't skip this part cause if you do you would fail in some ways or another, or if not you will not reach your full potential and you will not be 100% successful. I am not generalizing though, some people may be considered a "street smart" and they could easily find their path in the confusing and ravaging real world that they succeed even if they didn't undergo formal training in school. But a lot of those who are unfortunate enough to missed schooling because of problems regarding finances, family, socioeconomic and the likes don't get a better paying job because they don't have the skills and they are not professional in the end this results to them being in the poverty line, a sad truth. And yes, our parents work hard until they drop just to send us to school that is why I am very focus not to waste anymore time and apply at once what I learned in school in reality, in order to earn for me to be able to help my family and return back the favor they did for me. I am determined to become successful for them. After the licensure examination, like what you said job seeking is another narrow tunnel we have to pursue and go through so that we could see the light at the end, that is a nice paying job that could help not only in giving appropriate compensation but likewise learning that could improve one's self personally and professionally. Learning and educating oneself is a process, it is a cycle. It doesn't stop when we receive our diploma and it will start only if we really seek and strive to get it. Have a nice day.

I really admire you Unah08. As a student i can see that you are diligent in your studies. You value the hardships that your parents have gone through just to send you in school. Now you are graduating, be prepared for your final examination and above all for your licensure exam. Don't be pressured because they knew that you are doing your best. I will pray for you. Good luck!
