Eggs

March 17, 2011 8:17am CST
I have bought lots of eggs and I have tried to make a omelette but it always sticks to the pan. Can anyone tell me how to make the eggs not do this and some suggestions for what to put in them?

Don't turn your heat up too high while cooking.

I always cook my eggs in butter on very low heat. U probably have the heat turned up too high is why they stick. It takes very little heat for eggs to cook. Try that & see it it helps. GOOD LUCK.

If you have a nonstick pan and you use wooden utensils it should come off the pan just fine. Otherwise you would want to saturate the pan pretty well with a cooking spray oil. We usually put in lunch meat like ham or whatever left over meat we have (warmed up before adding it to the omelette), green pepper diced, mushrooms, bacon, onion, and toss in some cheese. I usually just like ham and cheese in mine.

Hi. chillpill90. Well when I make eggs, I will either use Canola Oil, or butter. This will help make the pan greasy. I only use about two tablespoon of butter though. And, I use a pan that is non stick. This keeps the egg from sticking to the pan.

Using a pan with a non-stick surface is a good idea, half the work, teice the effort. Pull some oil to the pan before you put the eggs in it. Then keep watch on the cooking power.

I put a little dab of butter or margarine, and let it melt a little, then tip the pan back and forth to spread it around. I like the taste it gives the eggs much better than oil, and my eggs never stick!

All the above suggestion helps. I use some butter and I make sure that I set the stoves flame on low flame. When it is too high as it heats it evaporates the butter causing the eggs to stick.

I see you reply above, how come the egg stick when you use non-stick pan. It really hard to understand. I use non-stick pan making omelette and never had this problem. Only problem I had is I burnt the bottom part of my egg while the top part not yet being cook because my omellette is too thick and the fire is too big. My suggestion; 1.Change to new quality non-stick pans. There are a lot in the market as long as you willing to spent more but you will get satisfy. 2.Pour oil or butter or margerine before you cook your omellette.

heat up the pan before putting some oil. Make sure you heat up the oil before putting the eggs so it will not stick. make sure after heating the oil, you turn down the heat to minimum.

That is what happens to me too, always. But in my case I think the pan's getting old. Well that's what mom says.
