Are people still being judged by their race?

This is a touchy subject that im writing wbout and im aware some people may get offended by the material so I want to start off by assuring everyone that Im in no shape or form racists, I dont favor one race over other races. I'm trly one of those people that believe everyone is a human being and just for that reason, we all deserve to be treated equal and fairly unless otherwise we have individually revoked that right by our own invdividual faults. I would like to bring up the fact that judging a person's by their race is not such a big deal like it used to be and that shows how well we have come along. But I personally witnessed others in my life experiencing this descrimination. When you witness someone you care for going through this you will know how it feels, its hurful. It feels like another human being trying to take that right from you of having the best life possible. I think what happened was the modern way of being racists and that is stereotyping. Why do I say this, well its possible to see a good number of a certain group of people doing the same thing or act in a certain manner (bad or good)and naturally assume this is how all people of that group are. I notice that it is something that matters to some people when determining if someone is right for the job or to be a tenant of their property. Of course many other things come into factor but stereotyping is like judging someone because of their background. Everyone should have the same oppurtunities, especially when it comes to applying for jobs and a house/apartment.These are important things and if the person have education, qualifications, enough income, it shouldn't matter what you may think a person is like. Give them a chance to mess up the oppurtunity, if they dont at least that right for human kind has been given, fairly.

It is not fair that we judge someone without really knowing them. It is a nature that is passed from generation to generation to judge people by their race. we are all individuals with significants needs, wants and personalities. we should get to know a person first before making any decisions about them. Race has nothing to do with the kind of person that we are.

No matter whats the issue is.. racism will always be a part of human behavior. We are human and we are made that way. It wont ever going to change. That is the attitude of most of the people.

I really don't think that the color of your skin or what you look like define a person. I really don't believe that. It's what inside a person and what this person does that really defines them.

Hi texas gal: I think that racism and stereotypes are ignorance. In the second case, people prefer to create these statements instead of thinking. It's comfortable to say that all persons of a group are the same. Stereotypes are often negative so they make integration of a group even more difficult. When I was a kid I thought that racism will end at some point because racists are ignorant but now I have to say that ignorance will be with us during all of our history. ALVARO

Sadly yeah there is still a lot of racism. Occasionally it reverses and the victims of racism become the aggressors, I don't want to say much because I am not racist and I do not wish to offend anyone. I have become a little more prejudice though because people are racist towards me. Its just a mess, I just ignore it unless someone makes a problem out of it then I usually just leave the situation.

I totally believe people are judged by their race. I am part of an interacial relationship and I have never seen people act so ignorant when they see us. I recently had a woman see my boyfriend walking towards nhere and as soon as she saw himm she ran back to her car, got in and locked the door. REALLY people???? Cmon.
