My ISP is really starting to annoy me.

I replaced my laptop the other day, I've still got to exchange the memory soon, I'm finding it lagging a bit as a result of lower memory, but that's besides the point. My ISP offers fast service, and we pay dearly for it, but it's not holding up to the standards that are guaranteed. Suddenly my mail wouldn't load, then I looked at my speed and it was 1mbps. It is normally 11mbps. This is truly starting to frustrate me, as it makes doing anything online virtually impossible, but they're just a greedy, money hungry company that pretty much owns half the city I live in. There's no way to boost the speed of the router, and it looks like we'll be downgrading the service soon, at least the speed with a lower service is more consistent.

When I was paying for service, I just ordered the lowest grade of dsl service available. I won't settle for dial-up, but I won't pay more for faster speeds either because most of the time they don't deliver. Is there a limit to how soon you can do it?

It all depends on my roommate as to when he'll call in and do this. He'll have to exchange the router so we can downgrade the service.

That can be so frustrating! I hope it gets straightened out soon for you. You should be getting what you are paying for.

Come to Canada! I use Bell wireless, and it's great for computers, iPods, iPhones, and other wireless ready devices.

This has to be really rough with that and the site at times taking a bit to load. I take it that your ISP service won't do anything further to help with this. I do hope you can get that worked out because that would drive me crazy. It does and I have great service but the site at times is slow. Try and have a happy Friday!
