how to build vocabulary?

friends i am a cat aspirant and i m really looking for some kind of assistance to develop my vocabulary..if anyone can help plz reply

1. Take a notebook and a pen
2. Read Daily newspaper and make note of idioms (bunch of words) and try to use those words in every day talks. Example:
there is a sentence like HE PLAYED A SHEET ANCHOR ROLE IN WINNING THE GAME FOR HIS COUNTRY. The words "sheet anchor" you mark and you can use this in day to day language.
3. Listen to BBC Radio News everyday. Try to understand the pronounciation. The newsreaders by and large make a good pronounciation.
4. Take the English_English Dictionary and choose 5 words every day with meaning. Make note in your book and try to use those words in your daily usage.
After a year or so, people come to you for language training.
