I don't agree, even though they can't pay they have the right to party and say goodbye to this awesome part of their lives, they already made the college more rich!

Sad to say but in our world today money is important. We cannot argue about the school rules because they are also doing business. But I think the government should find ways in order for the economy to go up and also we, people should help as well. We cannot rely everything to the government! We should strive hard in order to earn not just sitting around like a couch potato! There won't be any change if we don't act!

I think it's against the [Philippine] law to do this. It was featured on news maybe last month when they interviewed someone from DepEd or CHED. They said it's all right to let the student graduate but until they cannot pay, the important documents like the transcript won't be released.

Hi youichi6915 and a warm welcome to myLot! Sadly it is something they have in their rules but it does get enforced because the school cannot allow all students to graduate and find that later they will not pay either. Especially if the student is not returning to the school the next year. If it is part of the public school system then it is not the schools rule it is the Boards System rule. My children attended Catholic schools and I did bookkeeping for one of the schools and I know that the school could not make any payment arrangements. It was a must because it was the Archdiocese who required it. Is this happening to you?
