stuffed toys

My daughter has some stuffed toys wrapped in transparent wrappers just on display on the upper part of her double decker bed. I would sometimes get annoyed because they gather dusts and I would be dusting them every now and then. I find it hard to do that from the upper deck. But my daughter , who is in a far away dorm, graduating in College soon, always say that I just leave them there, though she doesn’t even touch them since they were given to her by friends during their high school days. I once suggested that we give them away so children could play with them. She has given away some but still 7 pieces were still there. However, she still would just like it there.

Toys, toys are the greatest invention in this world as per me because toys can make any one happy, it may be big old person or it may be a little child every one loves toys and know one wants that any other touch his or her toys and the same thing happens with your daughter.

yes, toys are really for children . In my daughter's case, she is now 20 year old and will be graduating in college comes April. But i know, those stuffed toys are the ones that have the most sentimental values, so she wants them to be just there at the top of her bed. So be it. I respect her wish.

That sounds nice. They're such precious memories that they are difficult to give away. Yes, the only problem is keeping them clean by dusting them often. I have a few stuffed toys too. When I was 1, I had many stuffed toys as gifts for my birthday. My mom did not let me play with them and just kept them hanging on a wall mount. Until now, I still haven't played with them but I like looking at them because they're technically part of my childhood even when I did not really play with them.

That's why i wrapped them in plastics so they won't gather dusts. I only dust the plastic wrap whenever i can.

sometime it better to wrap and store inside drawer or some big plastic container for long term storage . once inside drawer it will reduce the dust buildup and hopefully the plastic cover will prevent moss or fungus from growing up and discoloring the clothes especially the brown stains on the white clothes .

Yes, that also feasible. But i guess, she likes it at the top of her bed, so she can always see it. So i just let it be.

It is so hard to let things go when your items have sentimental value! I am 20 and still own my favorite stuffed animal from when I was 3. I refuse to let him go! He doesn't sleep in my bed with me anymore, I have outgrown that, but I refuse to let him be donated. given away or thrown out.

I respect the sentimental value of things too. But if it will just be forever there in the closet where you can't even see them, i guess they have to go. It should be displayed , like the stuffed toys of my child.

I used to have a lot of stuffed toys when I was young. So my mom, had a glass cabinet made for me to put on my toys. If maybe she has a glass cabinet to put them to, you wouldn't be bothered with the dusts accumulating on them. If not, maybe you can just patiently dust them off. Just look at it this way. When you take care of them, as if you are already taking care of your daughter.

There's no more space in the house for a display cabinet. Besides, she wants them just above her bed. Yes, whenever i dust them, i would think of it that way.

It's really hard to let go of things when they are given by our friends or somebody important to us. They have sentimental value and letting them go is difficult. I truly understand your daughter as I have kept mine for so many years.

That's why i just keep them where she likes them to be. I know they have the most sentimental value so she didn't give it away, like the others.

Hi, some things are just hard to eradicate and let go. These may have sentimental values instilled in them. So your daughter is having a hard time releasing them. I myself had a lot of stuffs before I got married, from letters written in a french fries box, accessories, stuff toys and even wrappers from where we (friends) have eaten. Those were all stored by me. My mother used to scold me and tell me that they would just accumulate dust and mosquitoes but I love them. When I got married, I stored those that really meant to me. I brought them home in our new house and let go of those that I think does not really mean much or if they do those that I can already let go.
