hi friends. last time i heard, people were crying for ponting's resignation or something so went and checked every captain and the results should be pleasing, atleast for ponting. starting with Kumar sangakara: one of the better performing captains in this world cup scoring 363 runs in league stages and one of the hardest to remove from the wickets. Ross Taylor: he batted just 4 matches but scored 245 runs with a very healthy strike rate. Andrew strauss: after he scored 88 and 158,he kinda dipped in runs and strike rate but with 329 runs ,he is also okay. Shahid Afridi: 2 years back,if you picked shahid afridi only for his bowling skills, people might have laughed in your face. now they will laugh if you say you picked him for his batting. with 20 wickets,he is the best bowler in the tournament so far but just 65 runs is kinda dimming his bowling prowess. Ricky Ponting: 102 runs from 5 matches is definetely a nightmare for somebody who is being campared with sachin quite frequently when the latter is pilling on runs like crazy. Greame Smith: with the talk about him being retiring after this world cup, lets say smith might not have imagined to go out with such poor form. just 155 runs from this talented left hander makes one wonder if he had already forseen that his form will dip and its better to retire? Darren Sammy: if people were surprised when a non-regular like sammy was made captain, they will be not so surprised with his form. 8 wickets and scoring just 55 runs makes one think even andre russle has performed better than him. MS Dhoni: as expected, all it took was one quickfire hundred during warm-up games to blindfold all Dhoni critics for the next 15 matches and he is using it well. if one expected to see guy who hit a ton just a month back, they were in for a surprise. he went back to his usual poking around and maintaining his healthy average (i wonder how this works ) but scoring just 118 runs in all 5 matches is actually like having an itch you can't scratch. why? the itch being the captain. so all in all,its been not so good for captains except for a few well deserved ones.

Yes friend, i will agree with your statement. Because captains are planning in how to send the members in an order and they are thinking about the players why players are not playing but they even not thinking why they are not playing properly and what is the plan or route to get out of that. Even they are giving comment like bowlers didn't do well or the batsmen. But not even a single captain given statement that i means captain didn't play well because of that team lost the match or team shown poor performance.
