Is betting online in India legal?? Plzz tell me the procedure for it..

Hii.. I have recently came across some good betting websites like Betfair, Bet365 etc . I am a resident of India, and was wondering is it safe and legal to bet through this websites via using a Visa Debit card.
I was thinking of betting on sports like cricket. Plz comment on whatever you know about it.

Hi Dear Abhishek! I am a man from Racing World! I am working for a Stud Farm where be breed horses for racing purpose and so I am very closely associated with betting of the racing! In India online betting is not legal and our government doesn't allow any money from Indian bank to be utilised for betting purpose.In India itself betting attracts a lot of taxes, to the tune of 10 to 15% while betting and to the tine of 40% on the winning money, where it is legal affair, like the betting done at race course! well...i believe it all depends on the sites which u bet. basically the sites which are famous like u said should be good. i'm saying based on my experience of having an account..i mean used to have an account in bet365. as long it is secured, n you don't have to reveal extra info bout yourself, then its fine.
talkin bout legal, well then it all comes to the governing body of your country...but if its online, normally, it should be fine..

as far as i know, there is now law governing online gambling in india. So i have a mixed opinion of the consequences if i bet. And i also wonder how would they track me if i bet online, i mean will it be safe to use my debit card?

I dont think betting in India is legal specially on cricket, there are many news about police raiding various betting spots in india and arresting people involved

easybets.com is an official betting website dedicated mainly to indian clients only therefore its safe to bet there with the safest transaction methods. They have massive promotion for india clients on sports & casino. I have been betting with them for almost 2 years already
