Children are picky eaters...not all but most children i know are picky eaters, some only like fried chicken, some only like bread..but mine love porridge! for some reasons she loves it, that is why i do wake up early in the morning just to fix her that rice porridge that she love. Often times i put a little cocoa powder in it and she loves it more and she will even eat it all day..for lunch and while watching tv..at times she would even eat it with banana and guyabano..( i do not know what is that in English ) While my 3 year old son, i believe had enough of it hahahaha i could see he likes to puke when he sees it hahaha he is the one who would eat just anything..from eggs to chicken to rice to soup...I myself also had enough of it.. Are your children picky eaters? do they like certain kind of food only? They are tough to feed at times..but children are children! I believe they will eventually grow up and be able to choose on their own..so i let them be. But my daughter just so loves that rice porridge.

I'm not a mother, but i love kids and often watched and atention for them. In my opinion, every child is like picking out what they eat, and usually they are not appropiate choices. Rice porridge is the good food i guess, you do not to have to worry about it.

Sometimes my 4 yr old is picky but often he basically eat what we eat except the veggies. But I think it is a factor too that he has almost no upper teeth to use on chewing. He so loved a macaroni soup. He doesn't want it with veggies and chicken on it. So what I do, I minced it into tiny pieces so he would hardly notice them.

Hi. jazel_juan. I always think that when a child love food(s) that are nutritious or healthy to eat, they are headed in the right direction as far as their nutritional status is concerned. Your daughter is very smart to eat porridge. I wonder is porridge considered to be similar to grits? My son love macaroni and many pasta dishes. My kids also love sweet potatoes as well. My youngest daughter loves mashed potatoes, macaroni and corn.

Hello Jazel, my small son also loves the rice porridge. But in my country we donĀ“t add it chocolate, nor banana, nor guayabo, this is new to me, and it seems a very good idea to enhance it. My eldest girl eats everything. My first son eats beans, chicken just in tacos, cereals, milk and some fruit as bananas and apples, and hamburgers. And my second son eats a lot of vegetables, he loves vegetables, and many fruits, and both chicken or meat. Blessings!... Dainy

I have 2 children. One has just turned 4 and the other is about to turn 2. My older child refuses to eat anything that looks unfamiliar. She can have rice any number of times a day, but does not touch anything new. The younger one loves salty food and snacks, while refusing staple rice or breads. Eggs are favorite with both, in any form. When they are unwell, they stop eating completely. However, once they recover, I believe they compensate during the next week, popping everything that comes their way into their little mouth. Kids will be kids!

I am the opposite of picky when it comes to eating. The only thing that I do not like (but will still eat) is Lima beans. But everything else I just love. There is very little food out there that I will not eat.
