I remember that, as a teenager, I was in a rock band, we were no good, or interesting, but it was fun, I found my old guitar, (it was old, even when I play with them), and I start playing, for the first time in years, and, to my surprise, i remember the chords, of course, not any Clapton yet, but it is still fun.

yamaha guitar - this is my guitar
Hi albto_568! I'm a guitarist too and I play guitar from 11 years. My guitar picture is attached here. I think it's great you come back to play it after years. I know what you mean, I'm playing in a cover band and even if we're not playing in clubs we're very happy to play togheter and we have lot of fun. I hope you will never stop playing, starting again after years you can notice a bit of lose of your guitar skill but after some practice you will play like you did in past. So keep on rocking!

My son is interested in playing guitar and he is having one bass and one lead guitars with him. Whenever he is free, he practices with his friends. We had full set of musical instruments like , Hi-hat, cymbal, crash, ride, base drum, pedal drum and microphone and children will enjoy with their friends playing the instruments

Learning an instrument is a good thing for kids, I don´t know the age of your child, but I can tell that music, helps to develop some areas of the brain, and increase the capacity for learning. I hope that your son perseveres with the practice of the guitar, is funny, and is good for him

I would love to be able to play the guitar but I don't have a musical bone in my body and yet I am surrounded by guitars, I have a lot of friends that are musicians and I am in their home studio a lot with guitars all over the place but no I am completely musicless...

Maybe the guitar is not your thing, ;), but, I believe that you have more than a musical bone, try another thing, Haven´t you ever try to sing?

That's really great! It is really amazing sometimes to find something you knew before could surprise you in the future. It is so fun too to remember it back then. I am sure your old guitar is now a bit rusty, isn't it. As well as your fingers?hehe but practicing it back again and again, could help you remember your old playing. Then, you'll get even better with continuous practice

It's always nice to go back to things we did and knew when we were young especially musical instruments, I learned to plays piano (classical) when I was young but I never became good at it,it was just not for me, I bought a guitar for my cousin and I ended up learning how to play it, memorized a few songs but I was really lousy, even my singing voice is better for speech and oration rather than singing. Hope you get your feel back pal, yeah Eric Clapton rocks, and my favorite is "you look wonderful tonight" and "I shot the Sheriff"LOL

That´s great, Wonderful tonight is one of my favourite songs too, it is even the ringtone on my phone lol. Thank you very much for your nice comments, it was quite funny to remember old days, and knowing that I can still use the guitar.

I don't play my guitar nearly as much as I should these days. Time to change that!

:), I looked at your picture, you are with your guitar, tell me, do you play in any band?, or just for fun?, it was funny for me to realize that I still can play a few chords, let´s say, acceptably.:)
