I received an e mail, which says that I have won 450,000 Great British Pound Sterlings in a Lucky Dip conducted by Coca Cola UK company. They have sent this email on the Coca Cola company letter head with some lucky draw coupon etc. They wanted to have my details for further proceedings which they say that they would be doing it after verification! LOL! I know that this is a Scam and I have received similar things in the past also! But this time I am really surprised that the Scammers have used the name of such a big Company to dupe the people! Innocent people can get trapped in this Scam as Coca Cola is not a small company! I have reported this matter to the Company so that they can be alert and take prompt action against these cheaters. I am waiting for the reply to come from the Company. Is there any one here who have received similar e mails from Coca Cola Company? If yes, what have you done with the e mail? Kindly respond! Thanks !

I have not received it but if I had it would have finished up inthe trash can with all the others from other famous companies. They really think we are that dim? It seems that the one you received has been around for a long time. I don't drink CocaCola unless I am eating pizza out somewhere so I am not one of their best customers http://search.mylot.com/search.aspx?t=web&k=coca+cola+email+scam

Hi Dear mysdianait! Yes, I understand that! Normally i receive many such emails on regular basis and I normally delete them without paying any attention to them and I also warned my son and colleagues about such mails! Yes,these scammers use all available addresses with them to lay a trap, even if they can manage to get a couple of preys per day their purpose will get solved! Having gone through the link given by you I think this scam has been around since a long time and possibly now they must have managed to get my e mail addressand they must be trying to target me now! LOL! In fact before posting this discussion I have tried to search this on search engine but I only used Coca Cola to get the address of the Company, but in the search results I couldn't get any thing about the scam! Thanks for responding and also for providing the link!

Hi Dear Zed_K4! Thanks I am absolutely fine! Yes, it is common now a days to get such emails promising a lot of money! I normally delete such emails without looking at them for second time! I know there are many scams going on on the net now a days and I recall advised one of the members not to get into this trap few years back ! Here I am really surprised to see that this time the Cheaters have used the name of a big and reputed Company to dupe the people! Any body would think for a while if he gets a email from Coca Cola company! Since people like us who know that such things are scams we tend to neglect such mails but think of some innocent people on the net who can easily fall prey to such scams. Name of a big and reputed company to make one make believe in the scam and also the huge amount which attracts makes one to get into the trap very easily! Thanks for responding! Take Care! Bye!

Hi akrao, I have got countless mails like this , mostly originating from Nigeria and they would promise me millions of dollars because they got money from bank which they want to get out of countries. Then i got email in which my email was randomly picked by MSN to give me about 8 million and then i got emails from Fed- Ex about the money i won. There must be countless others which i delete without opening. All they need is some money from you to process your claim and then vanish in thin air.

Hi Dear Agrim! i fully agree with you ! I too receive several emails on routine basis1 I understand that these people suck the funds from our accounts gradually in the name of processing fee, in very small amounts at a time, very time promising that they would be settling the final accounts within few days. Thus by saying so they take the member to an extent that he/she can't leave the scammer as he/she has already invested so much amount in the scam that leaving the scammer will never occur in his mind as he is entrapped in the greed! Now even if they want to complain about this fraud there is no competent authority dealing with such frauds so the poor person is left helpless! I know about this scams in details as I have read about such scams at various sites! My point of bringing this topic here was to highlight about the mode of operandi of the scammers they are using now a days to trap the people. Coca Cola is not a small Company. Because of the letter head used from such a big and reputed company there arises no question of doubting the credibility of the e mail. I am really surprised that people are not even afraid of using such big company names in scamming the people! Thanks for responding!

Hi AKR, Sometime from now, Coca Cola Bottling Company shall open one of its biggest plant in Asia right in our doorstep. I am waiting for one such email to come up to let them know that their name has entered the list of scammers on the web. I always love their product in spite of the reported bad effects it bring, scam emails using their name included.

Hi Dear Rog! Yes Scammers have crossed all the limits! They are not even bothered that they can get caught if they use the big names like Coca Cola to implement their Scam! These people know that people will readily believe if they get any letter from such a reputed company. the stationary and the pictures used along with some lucky coupons etc all will make one believe that the e mail is actually from the Coca Cola Company only. Oh yes! There was a point because of which one can get suspicious about the mail. At the end they have asked not to tell or discuss about this e mail with others to maintain the security. This may give rise to some suspicion in the minds of the members who received this mail! Yes, many people say many things about this company and about its products , including the scams like this, but in spite of all this the Company is getting stronger day by day, just because of the quality of the product they manufacture and market! Thanks for rsponding!

Hi Dear Kalyani! I know that these are all scams as I too received so many of them so far! But this time I was simply surprised to see that the cheaters are using the names of big companies like Coca Cola etc which is so deceptive and innocent people can fell prey to such big names! Basically under the greed people tend to act impulsively to such mails as company like Coca Cola has lot of credibility in the market! Thanks

Hi Dear Sameer! Yes, I too receive such spam mails on regular basis and normally I don't respond to them.Like you simply I ignore them and delete them! I was literally shocked to see that Cheaters have no fear of big Companies and they are cheating the people under the disguise of Big Companies! looking at the big names and the credibility of the Company innocent people may get trapped! So, you are also one of them, who got such mail where they have used Coca Cola Company as their Trump Card! I think basically it is the greed which is making the people to get attracted towards such Scams! As there is an old saying in India that one gets blind in the greed! Perhaps Cheaters are taking the advantage of this weakness! When one is in greed he/she looses to think rationally or logically and gets entrapped in such nets laid out smartly by he cheaters very easily! Thanks for responding!

Gosh spammers and scammers are getting lucrative this days. Do you know that I received a really nice live check mailed to me by a very reputable and world wide bank. Which happens to be the bank I bank at. So of course I am one to know that you get nothing for nothing. The check is for over $2,000.00, the catch was for me to deposit and keep $300 and return the rest. LOL, my first reaction was WOW, oh no... So I took the check to my bank and gave it to the fraud the department because of course it is a fake. My thinking is, sad for those that actually fall for scams like this. I do hope you get some sort of reply from Coca Cola company but they perhaps are bombarded with the many scams many use their name with, so maybe you will get a reply. I hope so though, would hate for a reputable company to be used this way. I don't believe to date that I have received an email like yours.

Hi Dear Hardworkinggurl! How can they trap the prey if they are not give a lucrative scheme? after all the factor which pulls one towards such scam is the 'greed' and the Scam makers know how to promote this particular thing to exploit the human weakness! I am really got surprised to know that you have been delivered with a live check for an lucrative amount of $2,000.00! The scheme was quite convincing also as the people wanted you to return all the amount to them just by keeping $300! This they must have done to create credibility in their dealing! It was a nice trap laid! I am happy that you have deposited the check in the fraud department of your bank. yes, it is really a sad thing as some people must be falling in prey for such scams! I am also hoping to get a reply from the Coca Cola company as their reputation and credibility will be at stake because of such Scams. In fact I have posted this discussion to highlight that today scammers are not afraid of anything and they don't even think twice before using the name of any person or company before attempting any scam! After all Coca Cola is a reputed company and any body would get fall prey to it easily! Thanks for responding! Take care!
