Nowadays, people use more and more Internet to search all information they need. All the news you can watch them on TV or reading on Internet. Even newspaper are not so popular any more and several cinemas had to close where I am living as less people are going to watch films in because of Internet and so many different channels on TV. What about the radio? Do you still listen to it?

Yep we still do. I think radio gives news immediately than TV because we don't have a local TV channel that runs 24 hour news. We only have segments of it a breaking news update that runs for.minutes only. Radios do not run 24 hour news too but because played music only runs for about 4-5 mins. they can always update us immediately than TV or internet.

I actually love listening to the radio. Since I bring my little one to school every morning, I continued on with my habit of listening to the radio. It is one way for me to know what is out there and what is happening to celebrities or to the world. I usually listen to the radio because I love music and what better way to know what is new by listening to stations that are popular here. But I have got to say, a lot of people still listens to the radio here because its a past time for people who just wants to sit and hangout like in a coffee shop.

It's a nice habit. So radio won't turn to an oldfashioned one. My youngest son also like listening to the radio already because he likes football, so when the match is given only on a private prepaid channel on TV which we don't have at home, he just switch on the radio to listen it in there.

I listen to the radio more than how much I watch TV. Especially for news and talk shows where people from home are talking about the matter or news of the day. It's more free than TV. TV is full with empty shows as talent and reality shows and programs where people are talking about talent and reality guests. Online I get easily distracted and I don't like to read for too long on the monitor, so I find it good only for a quick review of the news of the day.

That's right, TV turned too much to publicity and programms about people, their live, talents who are supposed to get into an important or famous person, and so on. But if you want to see or listen to somenthing really interesting, you have to search it well and sometimes there isn't anything. The only important thing seems to be the money, everything is comercial. That's why I also like the radio.

I rarely do. But still, I do. I only listen to the radio if there are urgent news around because in my country it is the fastest way for news to arrive. I is obviously faster than newspaper and more often than not, Television. The fact that the radio is cheap and easily configured gives it an edge over other news media.

But on TV you can see it with images, what you can't do on the radio. Anyway, I also like news on the radio.

Not too fast, they are fast in some situations, but not in everyone. Here they also hide some important news. And during nighttime, when most of the people are supposed to be asleep, they give more interesting news than during daytime.

Yeah, I suppose that's the advantage of the television but my point is that the radio is delivers faster in my country. If there is a recent news then the radio would broadcast it as soon as a few minutes but it would take a good hour or two before our local television could announce it. It suppose the television is faster in yours.

hi there, i still do when i am just at home doing nothing and just wants to relax, but since, lately i have been very busy with my papers and reviewing for my exams, i didn't get the chance to listen to it again. i really can't focus on my work when their is noise, even music. so maybe when i am done with all these, i can listen to the radio again, just music, not the news on the radio hehe
• Germany

Interesting point of view. There are surely some good music channels on the radio there where you are living, something like non-stop music!?

I listen to the radio every day at work. I would be really lost without the music playing. It helps pass the time. I type and sing. Please probably think I'm strange because I actually just mouth the words. I don't sing out loud. Best Wishes!

I used to listen to the radio much more than I do now. When I was a little kid I listened to it all the time. Even a few years ago I had a shower radio that I listened to every time I was in the shower. Most of the time there is crappy music on nowadays. All the mainstream stuff. I just download music but I do miss the good old radio days and the love I had for it when I was young.

That's the problem when some objects are replaced by modern technology. It's a pity.

what's even more of a pity is the garbage they constantly play on the radio. you're lucky if they ever even play a Cure song these days. It's all "Drake" and all that crap, and people go crazy for that stuff.

I listen to the radio while being on my way in the car or in the bus (using my mobile phone on public transport) to keep myself updated with the news or relax a little. At home I tend to have a TV news channel always running on my computer, even if I do something else because then I can switch to the imagery if something interesting such as a breaking news is arriving or occurring.
• Germany
28 Mar 11
So you are always informed about what's happening, that's great. I also use the radio in my mobil to listen to the music or the news. We spend a lot of time during the day in transport and others, so it's a good way not to waste this precious time nowadays.

Hi friend, To tell you the truth,I almost never use the radio in addition to test.Because the computer has much advantage compared to the radio, computer use network to get information's speed is radio several times, and can get more details of more detailed.Haha~ Good luck, have a nice day.!

But on Internet you only search the information you are interested in. Otherwise, on the radio you recieve recient information, news, etc. which you won't see on internet if you don't have listened about before. For example: if you are interested in culture themes, on radio you can assist to discussions, news or incidents. The same about politics.

I love listening to the radio. Of course I also do the internet and the television but the radio has a different feel to it. The news is on the radio and there is also a lot of entertainment going on with it. The music also is updated on the radio. At least if I listen to the new releases on the radio, I help a bit in reducing piracy and all that issues. However, I think that the best thing about about the radio in my country is the jokes that they put in. They are just so funny. I think that it is very helpful in a big way. We live in a stressful world and it will benefit us a lot to have a good laugh once in a while.

You are right, a healthy entertainment is very important nowadays. Maybe more people should return to use the radio, even if they would do so only sometimes.

I suppose it depends where you live . I live in Montreal, Quebec . Canadian music is as entertaining as golf on TV. And we have to play something like 60 % of this sh*t music. For news I watch the news and for music I throw a playlist on . That being said I am a musician so i guess Im kinda picky on what i listen to . Whatever you like as long as you feel good i guess . Satelitte radio seems quit interesting too.
