Cannibalism

My favourite movie is Alive, possibly because it is a true story about the Chilean soccer team that crashed in the Andes and the survivors were forced, from severe lack of food and little prospect of rescue, to eat the dead. They did not murder the deceased, they only ate the people that died naturally (from malnutrition and bad climate, etc.) I do not have a sick mind, I do not like the true novel or movie of Alive because they resort to cannibalism but because it shows a great will to survive and those boys and men shine as heroes. I am turned off from people that kill other people to eat them, murder is outright wrong, I don't care how anyone cares to try to justify it. The idea in my mind is that cannibalism from necessity is absolutely not wrong but what are your thoughts?

Agreed with Juan above--it depends entirely on what the given situation is. Survival, for example, is a perfectly okay reason for cannibalism; just so long as the deceased die naturally, and not murdered, in my opinion. Just as a sidenote, not really relevant to the actual question: I believe it was a rugby team, not a soccer team.

Cannibalism is just a contemporanean taboo, but most people see it as gross cuz they cant find a reason to do it, for example many tribes in Africa still practice cannibalism, not by murdering, but by eating the deceased's body as a way of showing their respect for them. It absolutely depends on the situation, and the way of doing it.
