My partner was bitten not intentionally by our pet female dog. They were having a fight for dominance when my wife tried to separate them. Thinking that the hand of my wife was still the part of her opponent, she accidentally bitten it. The method of injecting the vaccine was far more different compared to the old way. I got before 25 shots (everyday) of rabies vaccine after I was bitten by our neighbor's dog for cheaper price. And, you never need to have shots for as long as the biting-dog is healthy still after two weeks of observing. Nowadays, the vaccine is very expensive. In order for anyone who can't afford can save, one vial of vaccine-which is good for four shots, it would be divided into four victims resulting to less share than buy it alone. Victim would oblige to have three shots of vaccine (scheduled)if the biting-dog stays healthy for fourteen days after incident happened. Four shots if the dog got ill or dead. Scheduled shots (injection)an interval of two to three days until three dose or four completed. Have you got dog's vaccine already? When? Let's be careful with our pet dogs..vaccine is very expensive... Mobhomeir here...

Hello Mobhomeir, I never had to have a dog's bite vaccine, as I was not bitten by dogs. It happened only once, when I was 8, I went to visit a cousin and when we run by the guard dog, she bit my ankle. It was nothing serious, just a small scratch, so I didn't need any shot. In my country, the antirabic treatment is for free. But we are forced by law to give our dogs the annual shot against rabies so that, when somebody is bitten by a dog and the owner can prove the dog has all the shots to date, the bitten person doesn't need any shot except an anti-tetanos shot. It is worse when the dog who bit a person is a stray and he can't be observed for 10 days after the incident. In this case, the shots must be done. I thought that you don't need to have any shot if the dog has an owner and it can be observed after the aggression: "When a child is bitten by a healthy domestic dog, cat, or ferret, the animal is usually confined for 10 days and observed for signs of rabies prior to initiating post-exposure prophylaxis." http://www.answers.com/topic/rabies-vaccine#ixzz1I3yUkYr2 Why did your wife needed the shots if it was your dog who bit her?

Hello my friend. That government resolution was really imposed on us here, but our people here just taken it for granted...besides even if it is true that the dog was already injected anti rabies, the victim would not still believe because every one has no legal papers to prove that their dog vaccinated already. My wife still have to have anti rabies because that is the way it is here.. THANKS my friend.. M0bhomeir here..

No, but I thought my son might have to have them once. The bites that cause people to have to get shots here are from either unknown stray dogs, or an unprovoked attack. When I asked the doctor, he said there would be a series of shots in the stomach that would be very painful.

I was bitten by a my pet dog but that was more than two decades ago. My son was also bitten more than a year ago by a neighbors dog and it's just a hassle. We brought him to a public hospital so we were able to save a lot of money on the anti rabbies injection but the trauma it brought to the child is so much as well as the hours wasted of bringing the child to the hospital for the scheduled shots just because of our neighbors carelessness to leave their gate open.

I give my dog annually vaccine its a complete one so I don't have dealing with any disease. He also got deworming periodically. Its not cheap but still affordable its will be cost me $ 18 a year. I am using Pfizer vaccine so its won't made my dog feel unhealthy. I give my dog complete vaccination and not just rabies because he is living with us in the house so he is not backyard dog. I personally think if you can not give your dog proper vaccination, time and food just please don't have it. I meant they are our fully restorability and we had to taking care of them and prevent its spreads any disease to any one including ourself.

hi again daddy mob! Nope, I don't got an anti-rabies vaccine yet coz I was never bitten by a dog or cats yet, although I have experienced being attacked by our neighbors dog! hehe good thing that I was able to run before he bite me! Anyway, I agree that this vaccine is really expensive, I remember that my neighbor was bitten by our dog before, I rush the kid to hospital then to be checked and injected, well actually she just got an anti-tetanus vaccine then, lol! the medication didn't pushed through coz our dog is healthy and free from rabies...and thanks that the kid is fine till now and not yet barking! lol! just kidding! Hope your wife will be fine, so will she take the shots for anti rabies vaccine?

Dog bite is poison and bad dirty saliva. - Dogs saliva contain may germ virus and such.
There are ways to avoid being bitten is by knowing dogs behaviour, during fighting of dogs do not approach , do not throw food in between dogs because they will fight for the foods and may bite u in return, better to feed the dog separately, do not engage group of dogs which may bite u to show dominance, do not engage gang banging dogs in heat and such.Dogs that are aggresiive like showing teeth and snarring should be avoided.Do not pat unknown dogs with palm raise above their head this may suprise them.

Yeah I had rabies vaccine, actually two dose already in separate occasion. i was bitten once by a dog when I was about 6 - 8 years old then i was bitten again by a cat when i was 12 or 14. How lucky can I get both of the animals were positive with rabies virus, so i got the shot twice. You are not kidding when you say it is expensive because it really is, good thing my mom knows a medical representative from the pharmaceutical company that makes the vaccine and we got a huge discount. SO, yeah take care guys
