Well...Do you? For me, I know its a choice, to respond or not to respond. But If I resond to one and not the others, some my feel let out. For me, when I respond to a discussion started by another mylotter I would like for the discussion starter to respond to my response because I love the fact that my opinion is heard. What about you, do you feel obligated to respond to very response to your discussion?? P.S It might take me a long time to respond back, but I'll get there!

I comment on everybodys response who responded to my disscussion because first of mylot is a disscussion site and because I am interested in sharing what I think of peoples opinions, making suggestions and explaining. I feel I do have to because they took their time to share their opinion with me so I take my time to share what I think of their opinions.

I can agree with that. Mylot is a place for discussions. If you are looking for an opinion and someone gives you one, and its a reasonable response, why not respond back? Its only right to! Thanks for sharing!

I don't usually feel obligated to do so but tend to usually comment on everything as I've created/responded to a discussion of interest and if someone comments on it then I usually enjoy sharing/debating viewpoints . Also responding to each response is after all to your benefit in many ways, you'll earn, enjoy discussing but most of all you open an opportunity to build a friendship of some kind with those who may or may not share your view .

You completely right, responding is a very huge benefit. Especially if you get a lot of responses to your discussions. Earning and learning here on mylot is one of the main reasons why people are still here today! Thanks for sharing!

Understood, its great know you at least had your opinion heard. A lot of new commers do not know that responding back benefits. I know when I first started, I didn't. The longer I've been here you learn.

Exactly if it's going to benefit us, the site and each person who comments then we should encourage a discussion to go on . No point having a debate with only one point of view,we certainly need to share our views with one another . If we all stopped responding to peoples comments this site would be a strange place that's for sure . I do find it annoying when people don't respond to any responses and then go on and post something like 'how much do I earn...'

I see it as a courtesy to respond to the discussions. And the way to show appreciation too. I do try to respond as much as possible, but could not keep up the speed mainly due to the lack of time. I am always thankful to myLotters for taking the time to read my postings and responding to them !

I'm also very much thankful of the mylotters taking their time to respond. And I do agree it is showing common courtesy. Thanks for sharing!

I comment back to every response on my started topics, and to comments that others make on the responses that I leave on discussions started by others too. Not because I feel 'obligated' but because I hope that the topic will go further and turn into a discussion by doing so. I don't leave 'thanks for the response' or 'thanks for shating' etc. because that does not further the topic and sounds like I am not interested in what has been said by whoever responded (and it is also one of the 'donts' in the Guidelines and earns nothing for us because it does nothing to further the topic). When I start a topic (or leave a response) I do so because I am interested in what others have to say and have a conversation with whoever lands on it. I presume that the it is the same reason that they left a response therefore by not commenting back it could appear rude or disinterested and that is not the case at all. Sometimes I don't have time to follow up with comments immediately but I do get round to every one of them (unless the response is only 2 words) every single time. That is why they are called 'discussions' and not 'questions and answers' here on myLot.

For me, sometimes all there is to say is "thanks for sharing" for example if I'm not sure what the mylotters point of his or her response, meaning what they stated was very confusing, all I can say is "thanks for sharing" so I wouldn't leave them out. I could see how it can look like your disinterested, but thats not my intentions. Thanks for sharing.

If you are not sure of what they said or what their point is then isn't that a perfect opportunity to ask a question and further the topic?

Yes I would say that is the perfect opportunity because when they tell you and you get what they mean you can disscuss their response!

I feel that if a response is made to a discussion, it is only common courtesy to respond back to it. this is what keeps a discussion going and flowing.

I can agree! It is comon courtesy, and after all you asked for an opinion, you got one, which is how mylot works. Getting paid and learning in the progress. Got to love it!

Yes, because I started the discussion so that must mean it is something that I am interested in and hearing other people's opinions. I do not mind if people do not respond to me, that their choice but I think, for me, I will respond. It's my topic!

Great point, mylotters do start a discussion to get opinions and thats just what you got so why not respond back! Some people do, some don't. Can't fault them all (i'm speaking in general) thanks for sharing!

I usually answer to responses and comments. I usually do it because I read something useful or interesting in the posts. If I judge the answer stupid or that not deserve my attention I let it without reply. The answers are pratically all good so I answered quite always.

Thats the same though I had, If I didn't understand their response I would just leave it alone or say "thanks for sharing" I now know to elaborate and ask them what they mean for a better understand. Thanks for sharing!
