Our milk comes from a dairy farm managed by our state government and also from what we call ‘Gosala’, cows are kept there. This Gosala was established in 1896, has very good reputation. This morning the man who delivers milk, took his advance payment for month of April. I came to hear of this shocking information from him. The present manger is a dishonest person. To get more milk he has persons who give some injection to the cow, this injection is given to women before child birth, I am told. The chemical in the injection will be coming in the milk, it will affect us ultimately. This manger also sells away the brass utensils and other stuffs, which people donate as per our Hindu faith. Cow is holy for us. I wonder how people can do this. They are not afraid of God? They will have to face the karma. What is your opinion, please respond and share yours.Kalyani ‘Namastey’. . God bless you to enjoy a lucky day ahead.

Kalyni2011, As shocking as it may be for you to hear this from your milk delivery man, I think it is important for you to remember to do what you need to do here. So instead of laying low and worse keeping quiet all to yourself, I hope that you will do something more like finding out more facts and / or report it to the relevant health authorities or regulators before these "tainted" milk gets out of hand and find them in baby formulas. I do not need to tell you the consequences which recently took place in China where a number of babies had been killed while some had vital organs failed and removed. We should learn from history and speak up when it is necessary. I feel this is such a time.

Yes Cow is holy for us and in every "Ramayana" and "Bhagwat" says cow is god so do daily pooja like and first roti or chapati making at the time of cooking. Anyone should do the complaint against the manager. Really now fraud is fastest growing activity.

You have to prosecute the fraudster and dishonest man who committed those scams. Have you filed a complain with your government about those bad people?

This is managed by a trustee, govenment is not going to take any action, i was given to understand that some members of the trustee are also involved. Hence i say they will face the karma sooner or later.. Thanks for sharing your opinion Happy posting, cheers. Namastey. Kalyani

It is sad to know that people are so worried about making a profit financially that they will put people at risk like that. I hope that people will make some kind of statement, perhaps by going somewhere else for their milk if that is possible. Are you sure that everyone else isn't doing the same thing? It seems to be a rampant problem in America except if you go to organic farms, but products there are much more expensive.

Well do the milk seller there add water to milk for purpose of increasing its volume? Greed can compel a person to go to any extent though.. Thanks for response Happy posting, cheers. Namastey. Kalyani

That is terrible. There have been stories here too of our food being injected with certain things for larger veggies or more production. I suppose it had been going on for quite some time and they are just in the past few years learning the true affected it has. They claim that steroids in our food contribute to our children developing earlier. Of course this is controversial and there are people that deny it.

hi friend, whatever it is he is doing, the best way is if you know this is a crime, then gather enough evidence, consult a lawyer, talk to people who might have seen or want to stand witness to the manager's crime, if this is a moral and health concern, then by all means make him liable friend, it would prevent others from doing the same thing next time

Hi Kalyani, this is an awful situation. I feel very sad to know the situation of your place's Gosala. I can not understand why some people are so brutal towards animal. Cow is worshipped as god in India and there are people who treat them so bad. I think you all should complain against that Gosala and get the manager out of his post. I hope things will be fine soon. God Bless!

Sadly these things happen. I don't know what kind of injection he was giving the cows. But I do know here they were giving hormones to the cows and people got upset about it and most milk producers do not do that anymore. Either way people do such things in the name of greed.

That's real sad , here at my place we buy milk from mother dairy but don't know if cows were treated like this before. You are right the guy will ultimately face consequences for his bad deeds.Cow is holy and we also worship her and this guy is mis using people's faith and mis-treating animals. There must be some way of reporting this to higher authorities and also there is NGO's of Maneka Gandhi for animal welfare better search for them and complain this to them

Hello Kalyani namastey, I too am Kalyani :) Yes, it is indeed shocking and very difficult to digest the fact that we pride ourselves on our faith and beliefs and the status that we have given to our livestock, more specially our cows. But of late, it has been repeatedly being reported in newspapers for the last six months and more that these animals are being given injections, which are mainly of the hormone oxytocin which increases the flow of milk. It is not just happening in your Goshala, but everywhere in India. Amd not just only for milk, but these chemical and hormone injections are being given to many of vegetables and fruits too. God only knows how long this is going to continue, this is a clear indication of where we are heading to - a state of complete anarchy! :(

It is fact and some thing like living life with half truth... It is happening every where.. Even i want to say some thing more than this. I mean one should try to stop the business related with milk. Human being just exploiting animal. We should stop drinking and taking milk and related products. One should drink milk only up to the age of 2 to 3 years and that should be of the category you pertain i.e. Human take human milk only rather than animal. And it should not after this.. Dont care what doctor suggest. Dont care past records.. Dont care what other do,.just think...different body structure always lead big problem. It is also applicable to those taking non vegitable.

May be you are right in your opinion about drinking of milk, but we are habituated to milk, it is a need, i may go for powdered milk or condensed milk, but that too comes from cow or buffolo. Thanks for response Happy posting, cheers. Namastey. Kalyani
