Hi, I recently installed debian 6. I noticed that some websites take a lot of time to load and some websites doesn't load at all. But the file download speed is pretty normal. This one issue forces me to boot onto windows 7 each time when I need to browse the internet. Does anyone faced any issues of the same kind and if you managed to sort it out please post the how-to?

Hello hsined, I am surfing with Gentoo 10.1 -- not the last one -- and I see no difference to load a page, and better tools to resume a download than in Windows. There is less dependencies in Gentoo than in Debian, but the problem is not in dependencies if your download speed is normal, and only your browser slow, it is the fault of the browser. Is not ipv6 enabled in the browser and disabled globally ? In FireFox, it is a switch to toggle in "about:config", network.dns.disableIPv6 . Try it.

Hi topffer, I disabled the IPv6 but the issue still persists. I had the same issue with ubuntu too. Maybe I should try Gentoo linux. I hope its available in gnome environment.

Thank you for the BR, hsined, but I do not deserve it : I cannot help you, as I do not see why the browser only is slow. Sorry.

Just a small question, have you tried debian or ubuntu and why did you prefer using Gentoo Linux?
