Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Captain of the Indian cricket team, scored a magnificient unbeaten 91 to lead his team to a victory over Sri Lanka and win the much coveted World Cup Trophy after a gap of 28 years. In this he was ably supported by the rest of the squad.During the match he had sported his normal short crop of hair. However yesterday when he and the team members went for the tea party given in their honour by the President of India at Mumbai he surprised everyone with a completely shaven head. When asked he said that he had donated his hair to the world famous Balaji temple of Tirupati in Tamil Nadu. It seems before the tournament had started he had conducted a puja (ritualistic worship) at his residence and had taken a vow that if his team wins the World Cup then he would Shave his hair completely and donate it to that particular temple.Well, he kept his word and i must say that the new hairstyle suits him completely. What do you guys think of this new hair shaven look of Dhoni? Please give your opinion.

Hello Veejay, First of all congratulations to all Indians here, as we wont the trophy after a long gap. It is a moment for proud on every Indian. Regarding the topics, I heard from my hubby, when he was reading his newspaper in morning, Dhoni got his head clean shaved. He may be offered the hair for the blessings for winning the championship. People have different types of believes. In case of World Cup, it is really a big dream and he has the right to pray according to his belief. I have watched the Sri Lnakan team, every bowler was praying before throwing the ball. Their team too did it well on Saturday but this time luck was with us to break the records and we won the trophy. Indian team deserved this success.

I would comment not bad. i still like Dhoni with his first superhit long hairs when he appeared in Indian cricket. Then he trimmed his hair, but it was quite okay. Actually we were habituated with long hair Dhoni. Then he almost became bald before his marriage(may be just after or during his marriage). He had very short hair then. Now he shaved his head, completely. It doesn't look too good nor bad. Quite average. It doesn't matter now with his hair because he was always for styles. So he can maintain it. After his match winning knock in the final it seems whatever he do will good. This line suits for all the members of the World Cup champion squad.

Actually it does not matter whether he keeps long hair or short hair. Its his bat that should do the talking and not his hair which will grow again. Thanks

I really don’t know from where we get to hear so many different versions of the same thing… did you hear Dhoni say personally (on TV) that he shaved off his hair due to some vow at some temple? In today newspaper (The Telegraph, the leading English daily of Eastern India), it is mentioned clearly that when asked about his new look, Dhoni just laughed casually and said that he just shaved off his hair in the spur of the moment and also keeping in mind the upcoming IPL (in hot and humid conditions)… he had no vows or temples in mind! Even his wife said that she was taken by surprise as on Sunday morning, he just went to the bathroom and started shaving off his hair himself! Whatever the case, he’s looking handsome and cool as always!!!

Well veejay, what should I say? It was his promise that ifthe team won the Cup he would donate his hair and as the team actually won he kept his word. On the otherhand on the final match day the legandary singer Lata Mangeshkar had kept a ;vrat' wishing a century for Sachin. But God was not happy with her it seems and Tendulkar could not score a century. Dhoni upgraded in number and came to bat ahead of Yuvraj and Raina. People are saying he wanted to take the advantage of the batting pitch and had he sent Yuvraj he would perhaps not get a chance to bat. And some are saying that he was apprehensive and therefore he did what he did. Whatsoever the case Dhoni as a person cool and collected.
