Face to face with death

It is a memorable day for me. Three days of continuous holiday and the third day sitting at home made me boring. I was almost completion of the house reordering and all. In the after noon, I notice the drumstick tree on my back yard of the flat is loaded with ready to use drumstick. Last week also we removed about 100 drumsticks and this week also got ready for another lot.
I just come out and started to cut which all are the branches. There is an electric line passing nearby to this tree and the branches are almost touching when it got loaded with drumsticks. Most of them were removed and the last branch which was almost touching to the current line was also heavy. I just cut it and due to the wind, it stuck with the electric line and the whole tree got electric circuit. I was about 10-12 fee high on the tree and It was difficult to jump through the branches.
It didn't stay for long, but I was virtually shivering on the tree and I was with the sickle, and as I was holding on the branches, and feet got tight, the current passed heavily and I lost my control for 2-3 times and finally thrown away from the tree. There were children and people around and no one could make out what really happened. I got up and walked quickly as if nothing happened. But my head was bleeding and got 2 heavy injury on the back side of the head.
However, immediately gone to the doctor and now 7 stitches are there. For God's grace, nothing serious and when the electricity passed heavily through my body, I though I won't be there any more to continue with myLot. I should thank God!

ohhh my ,,,your experienced was so scary,and it was happened also to my nephew a years ago,but thanks GOD he doesn't have any injury and he's fine enough. it's better that you thrown away,and having 7 stitches than most worst happened,GOD is good and HE give you a new life becoz GOD knows that your family needs you and GOD always help good people. take care your self as now and take a rest you need that

If you see the surroundings, I could have get more serious situations. Because the place where I fell was full of stones. Near the tree, there is a 6 ft. wall and other side of the wall is a vacant place with stones and bushes only. Also, as the area was deep slop, if anything fall heavily, it will roll for 1 or 2 times more. I don't know how I place. If I feel from this 10 ft. height and the speed I was thrown also was fast. In such case, I should have get heavy blow or it could have broke my hand or legs, or shoulder issues, ribs or bone fracture or anting like. That is why I feel wonder, I just got up just like I didn't happened anything. If the head injury was not there, I was totally ok. But as everyone said, better to careful all times, whenever we go for certain challenging experiences.

Yes, I thought of you. Not only yourself, many are just disappearing for sometime, good see you back. I am ok now and I met the accident quite unexpectedly. I was removing the drum sticks from the tree near to my home. One of the branch to in contact with the electric lines near by and got shock. I was on the top of the tree and when got electrified, I thrown away from the tree and fell fell down and got injuries on the head.
Nothing fatal for luck, which could have been more severe. Now perfectly alright and cured well. I also won't get enough time to spend on myLot as the access from the office got restricted. I will get only 1-2 hrs. from home in the evening and become lazy now. Earlier, I used to access from office at whatever time I require. Now I can only read, access - no comments or responses, which made me irritating.

. Please take proper rest and you can do mylot when you are completely fine. You have some injuries in head and I think it should be taken care of well. My humble request is to you, to cut the branches of the tree with some people from electricity board so that they can cut off the line when you cut the branches of the tress. Else please ask somebody to do this work but with the help of the personal from electricity only. I know you won’t do the same mistake again. Please be safe always. Get well soon.

Hi Sree,
Yes, normally the electricity people used to come to cut the branches once in 3-4 months and when they come last time, they deeply cut and gone. Only because of the extended monsoon this year, I think all become double in place. In fact, we were done all just for a fun and enjoyed removing the drumsticks from the tree. I come down also. But as I noticed, the big and the tallest may touch on the lines within a week time I though I will cut the same branch also. Unfortunately, instead of falling directly to the ground, it got stuck on to another branch as the wind was towards the other side with more power and got stuck and got chances to get in contact with the current line. Though it got only touched to a single line and 2-3 leaf for just 3-5 seconds, all happened all of a sudden and mean time the branch also fell down.
Any way, for God's grace, I escaped without much troubles and if something went wrong, it could have been so fatal as well. Sree, thanks for your comments and I think I never forget this incident any more in my life.

This is really dangerous. I know many people getting electrocuted only due to such cases. The wire must be 440 volts or else it would be fatal.

Yes, it was the main lines. It is just 10 mtrs. away from the building and especially, in the rainy seasons, whenever there is a some contact of leaves or branches, there can be fire always. I used to see most of the time. Even thought there was not direct contact, and only hold the branches, both my hand finger skin and the feet skin also got dried and now it is paining and become senseless. As you said, if I stay some more time on the tree, it could have been fatal.
Now I feel so scary when I am thinking of the incident.

Hi dear,
You rightly said it. We should thankful to God, all times and especially whenever we are in trouble and danger. In fact I could have get more or serious injuries or anything else as well, that was the place I was. There were so much of stones, 5 ft. height of fence where one side is cemented floor and other side where I fell is full of bushes and other plants which could have give more hurt or damage to my body as well. Today, when I observed the same place, I got shocked because if I get thrown to any other side, I could have get more troubles.
Any way, I am alright and no more difficulties followed. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Dear Thanks ! Hearty Congratulations that you are having a second life now! Please thank the Almighty that nothing serious has happened to you and you had escape just with few stitches on your head! Much worst could have happened with the electricity shock,it was the God who have come to save you!
I know as I have seen couple of incidences in which a person lost his life and in another incidence the maid who used to work at our place was admitted in hospital and she was unconscious for 24 hours and her fingers got fused after the electric burns which I think still she must be having like that only!
It is a lesson we all should learn that with the increased facilities in our life because of science, we are equally prone to getting exposed to such accidents if we are not careful while handling such gifts from the science!
Now with the new life have a nice time and be careful henceforth while handling anything like this in future! all the best! Thanks !

Hi Rao,
Yes, I know that we should be careful and especially, whenever I need to deal with electricity, I used to switch off the mains and do any electricity problems, if any, at home. In fact, in the normal way, there was not chance. But the removed branch get in contact with another branch of the nearby tree. If the removed branch directly fell on the floor, nothing could have been happened. But as the wind direction was on the opposite direction, it it happened in such a way. Also, I didn't get a direct contact. As the current line was (mains) and having heavy voltage passing, through, it got high voltage circulation through the tree. Last year also, when I was standing near down the floor and when I was watering the plants near by, I had to touch the same tree and I felt similar shock, slightly. When I notice, I was few leaves were in touch with current line. But it was so mild and if we hold the tree we will get the shock.
Any way, I should be careful on such things. In fact, I left out this branch and come down earlier, but I felt it odd, and again I climbed up to remove it and that time it happened. So I felt that whatever to be happened will happen, or we feel or attract to it. Otherwise, I was doing all the cleaning work at home and there was not chance to immediately go out to the tree and cut the branches!

Hi dear,
Though I didn't feel anything different at that time, but now, when I am thinking about the incident, I feel really scared of it. I can just see the tree the behind through the window and in this morning, 4-5 times I was looking at the place how it happened, which even I cant recollect.

I've seen from news how dangerous and how it could be fatal.
Wish you the fast recovery and hope you will take extra care next time.
Can't you asks the power company to do the cuttings of those branches?
Here in our country,all we have to do is contact/call the power company to do the job,their employees are more trained to do and face such danger.

Thanks for your comments. Though everything happened within seconds time, I didn't get any time for preparations. The electricity people used visit here about once in 3-4 months. But this year we got too much of monsoon and about a month back they have removed all the branches. May be due to monsoons, the branches become so wide spread and the trees got grown up so fast.
In fact I should not have to go for it and just for a fun I thought I will remove all drumsticks which can be distribute among the society people. But I never thought the removed branch would stuck on the other branches. Instead of fell directly to the floor, it stuck on the other branch and got a contact to the current wire.
Any way, nothing major happened and I am safe only the injury will take few days to normalise and I think I can got to office in 2-3 days time. Thank you so much for your response once again.

Hi thanks: That was a really scary situation but as you say, you must feel really lucky. A few people in this situation could talk abnout how they survive. You were really lucky and yes, thanks God for that. Life is a blessing and you have the chance to continue living. It makes you think about the value of this gift we have and that we usually don't appreciate its high value.

Yes dear, I feel so. Though it was for a few seconds, the entire things what happened was totally can't believe and when I think of it now, feel so scary and in the morning from the window, I was observing how it happened and it is hard for me to believe it.
I got wondered that I am an expert tree climber, when I was in schools and colleges. I used to clime on rubber trees, teak trees and jack fruit trees and so many other trees just for fun along with friends after school times. 15-25 mtrs. of high teak trees and as much huge rubber trees are are in our plantations and we used to bet with others and who can climb on the top most and come back as early as possible. Such fun and confidence is still with me and this 10 ft. height is nothing, but to happen something bad, 6 ft. height is also good enough.

OMG! That was a very gallant and calm way of dealing with the accident. Imagine having thrown from a tree because of a sudden brush with electricity! Having 7 stitches on the head!
If that happened to me, i would really be frantic and crying loudly!

What I feel, in fact such incidents happens all of a sudden, we cannot make out what is really happenings and whatever happens on such moments, we won't realise. I just got up and walk cooly and the children around found that my head was bleeding. When I touched only I realised that I got hurt. I didn't feel that there was a wound on my head. It was at 2-3 places and immediately we moved to the doctor. However, today I feel so better and have no pain also.
