My son started exploring his body when he was about 4 - 5 months old, he noticed he has feet and always reached it. He found that he has ears and always scratches it and everytime when I change his diaper, he puts his hand on his p e n i s and grabs it, I thought it will hurt him but it doesn't seem to bother him, I don't let him though because he goes put his hang into the mouth after. So I was changing his diaper, there has been 5 days he hasn't pooped and he finally did so it was a lot a lot, the diaper was very full, I untapped it then he grabbed on it again with handful of poop... great. I think it is interesting to see him notice what he has got on his body, he scratches all over hiself, the head, the ears, the tummy, the thigh...everywhere. Anything fun to share about taking care of your children?

me and my mom babysit my lil nephew a year ago,and we notice the same thing.and i remembered that my great grandmother said that "when the baby or child started reaching his/her foot and tried to put it on his/her mouth it means that she/he is asking for a new baby brother/baby sister..it means that he/she is ready."i just dont know if it is true or just like a superstitious belief..

I think that is just a supersitious belief because all babies do that around 4 -6 months old.

As infants turn to toddlers and eventually preschoolers, they are in the exploration and inquisitive stage of their life where they try to be aware and conscious of the things they physically have and be able to know its function. When they get hurt, dont feel bad instead appreciate it because they are trying to know what is right from wrong or good from bad so that next time around they would be mindful and cautious enough in making a move. =)

Hi, i got a baby and he will turn 9 months tomorrow and he does explore his body to. I remember the first time he saw a mirror he keeps on looking at it. Now he recognizes his face in the mirror and he tends to do a lot of facial expressions. But he love to smile a lot by just looking at the mirror. He really looks so cute. Now when he ses a picture of himself he does the same thing. hehehehhehe. what an angel.

I think my son likes to look at himself at the mirror as well, I wonder if he knows that is him yet.

Oh gosh how cute. I do remember my daughter use to always lift her feet at around 4 months and put her big toe in her mouth. I would laugh and so would she it was hilarious and somehow I felt she knew it was something that would make me laugh because out of no where she do it over and over, always at the times I was around her.

i have two kids, 11 years old and 9 years old already. . hmmm, as i can remember, there was a time in their childhood where they would play their poopsies and weewees =) they only use diapers at night (because it is expensive to wear diapers all day) so i use washable cloth diapers at day time. i think it is a part of childhood that sometimes, not all, experience it too =) so nice to reminisce those days where in your kids are still babies =) so many happy memories!
