Do you delete your account when you decide to quit a site?

Hello everybody, Knowing how many sites become scam these days, I decided to quite some sites I'm in, because I don't trust them any more. I also saw that many users here said they are going to quit Neobux or Onbux. My question is: do you use the site's function to cancel your account or you just live and don't say a thing? What would be the advantages of each variant?

Hello Huidu76 I never used any site's functions to cancel any of my accounts. But, considering the motifs that the previous response sustain, I think it is a good idea to change the personal details first, before cancelling an account. Do you think that the personal dates are still protected even if I don't change them to some useless ones?

I don't know, I was thinking that if the site's owner is not a honest person, he could use our personal details to do illegal stuff on-line. Have you ever thought about this possibility?

When I decide to leave a site I don't normally cancel the account. Reason being that I have had several accounts in which I have returned to after some time so having not canceled the return is a smooth transition. To date I have not been spammed and or fraud in anyway for not having removed my information. Maybe I have just been lucky I suppose but have not had any problems. So the advantage for me is that I have had funds in an account I easily quit and upon returning the funds and all my information was still there.

Some sites will forfeit your funds after a certain time of not logging in. Mylot, for instance will forfeit your funds if you do not sign in for ninety days. It was not always that way, but as the site got larger I think they had to do it that way. I guess before making any decision on any site you should reread the terms of service.

Yeah I agree about the Terms of Service. I have had a few that I have gone back to and as luck the funds were still there. I am always leary of any online site not be trusting. Usually when I leave it is because I have no more interest and or is way too low earnings to trust. Then I hear after my depart that it has gone scam, it is at that point I am glad I was no longer with it. Then I read a discussion that the site is back and running by a new owner. When I have gone back the funds were still there, but I remember the reason why I left to begin with and still do not continue with it because it was my initial instinct the site was not great so to date I have check and although the funds are there, but I will go back and look for a cancel feature.

I have been signed up for so many things in the past, and some I deleted my account, and others, where I never was active, I just forgot about. I think it is better to delete the account if there is an option to do so. My problem with some is that they never did what they said, and there was never a way to delete the account when I discovered it. I quit neobux, clixsense, IsabelMarcos, and Hits4Pay a long time ago and I am pretty sure I deleted my accounts in those sites.

I noticed too in some sites that there is no option to delete. Thankfully I have not had any problems with any by not deleting. I guess it depends on what site it is, because even any of the sites I have belonged to I have not had spam emails and or offers for anything. Knock on wood I am glad not to have had any issues with any but have heard of members who have.

I'm guilty for leaving a site hanging...unless I get all kinds of spam from them then I'd go back, cancel, and unsubscribe. Thanks for the reminder, I really should cancel all of my accounts if and when I decide to leave them.

It seems that it is better to cancel an account when we decide to leave a site. I like the reasons that the first respondent posted, especially when you use the same or similar details for several places. I know that eventually the site's owner will delete my account for inactivity but I think it is better to cancel it myself.

If the site is one that is about to become scam or has been already declared scam, I don't think they will send any spam message any more. But look what a honest site did: Wordlinx sent me an email asking me politely that if I want to cancel my account, I should go back and cancel it myself. I was hoping they will delete it because I've been inactive for almost 6 months, but no, they were so polite to ask me about this first.

I've never done that. Just let my account expires and be deleted from their system. I leave it that way because sometimes I might have a change of heart and sign back in.

It was funny that you asked that cause there was a time when i would have been on all of these sites. But it took so long to earn anything to the point I just stop. Even though I stopped I didn't even close my account thinking that one day I would come back to it when i had time. Which only turned out to be that I have not been back to any of those sited and I'm still a member. Now that you have asked the question I have to go and close my accounts to all of them. Cause I don't even participate with any of the. the funny thing about that too is I don't even remember the past work that I had and I guess or should say i hope that if you don't participate they close your account anyway.

Yes I cancel or delete my account as much as possible... since it is my way of organizing my file online... but some sites have no delete button when you want to delete my account on there... so I just leave it that way because I have no choice...
