I have read in my total quality management books and also in some magazines that being a good listener helps you in a good management and a good leadership to deal with people etc etc..But it is not just listening i feel..but some tips and tricks must be associated with a good listener..like what are the points one need to concentrate to be an effective listener..like you must focus on the person's real intentions etc...please add something more to this discussion

I think being a good listener helps me in many ways. There are many benefits to being a good listener and I really think it helps me deal better with people. If I listen carefully to what they are saying I'm more likely to understand what they need or want. I think that it is very valueable when it comes to good leadership skills. Like you said other techniques can be helpful as well.

Thanks for the response...You have added that it helps to deal people in a better way..and helps understand people's expectations from us..but i also want to know what we really must listen..like many times people dont say things straightly.so you need to be clever enough to know their inner intentions..and tat is what seems hard to me..wat do u think about this
