I love the song Moment of Truth by FM Static. I read that the singer had actually composed this song for his girlfriend he was proposing to. Lucky girl!!!! I love reading about romantic and awesome proposals, and it makes me wonder whether how people here at myLot got proposed to or how they proposed. Do share!

Yes, she is. Makes you want to marry a singer/songwriter. Oh, sorry to hear you rejected the proposal. The ring was literally thrown? (Unless it's a useless cheap knock-off, then it's okay. ) Yes, a unique proposal would be good.

The ring has it's value as i seen it but you know when the person you loved so much rejected you will not think twice if you are going to throw it our not even it cost a thousand bucks

Wow! I just wish I was there when he proposed so I may get the ring he'd thrown. I might have some extra bucks pawning it!

Oh you love sick girl! Mine is very romantic. He asked me if I want to marry him without a ring on hand, like asking me if I want to eat some hamburgers in a fast food store. And the silly girl in me just said "Yes" as long as I don't have anything to do but attend my wedding. Oh he was really fast, since he knew somebody at the city hall. So a month later we got ourselves hitched at the city hall on his birthday for a civil wedding with just me in my pants and our parents not in attendance. As if we really eloped! A year after, we had our church wedding where all our families got to attend and celebrate with us.

He's fast! Maybe he got worried you'd get away that's why he did it really fast. Well, the silly girl was in love, so she said yes.

Or maybe he realized I'll bump my head and realize I don't want to marry him at all.

Sadly and thankfully I have never been purposed to, but I think it might not be long before someone purposes to me, I'm not sure I'll ever say yes but if I ever feel that I'm in a place in life where I'm ready and want to say yes I hope that the proposal isn't cheesy or over done just honest and real and sweet, because the marriage is what truly counts not the proposal.

You're right, it's the marriage that counts. It wouldn't matter that your engagement was not as you dreamed about, as long as your marriage is. And will be a good marriage until the end. But, it would be nice to have a wonderful proposal from someone!

Boyfriend had to drink before he could tell me. He was out-of-himself nervous and I said yes instantly because I wanted to end his discomfort and because I loved him. :)

Aww, sweet of you to end his misery like that! I would have tortured him longer if that were me. I guess it's a pretty nerve-wracking moment for them, so maybe they can be excused.

Hi glory! I live with my boyfriend for 5 wonderful years. We do not speak about marriage. I will not rule it out but for now have had no thoughts about getting married. I was married once before and it was a very difficult marriage. No romance from my ex when he proposed, I probably should have taken that as a hint. lol I wish I could give you something wonderful to read from me, but nope no proposal but know that I am very happy and loved.

Well, as long as you are happy and loved is wonderful enough to read! And, I'm glad you're out of that first marriage and have someone happiness in your bf now. For some, marriage is just a formality.

Awww some sweet stories here! I remember the day my husband proposed, he had actually planned a surprise engagement party for me that he was to take me to after he proposed. Of course since I knew nothing about it, I dragged him all over town that day shopping, running errands, going to a movie, and by the time we got back to his apartment, he didn't have much time left to do an elaborate proposal. He disappeared into the bathroom for what seemed an age and a day to shower, shave, and get dressed nice...me thinking we were ordering a pizza and renting a movie thought he was nuts! He came out of the longest time he's ever spent in the bathroom getting ready for anything and popped the question. I was so surprised! Then when I said yes he told me to hurry up, I had a party to go to! He took me to my favorite restaurant where all my friends and family were waiting along with a local musician I loved he had hired to play for the party! I didn't suspect a thing, such a happy day! :)

I did it on Christmas Eve. I gave my girl a box which was wrapped in another box which was wrapped in yet another box. She opened the box and was totally surprised when she say the ring. Now looking back those were the worst words I have ever spoken. I have been slapping myself ever since. Don't Do It!!!

Yes, it's really sweet. Well, I wish it for you, then, if that is what you want. Or, maybe some other way that would make it special for you.
