Who's your Sixth Man? Odom or Terry?

Now that the NBA regular season will soon be over, the candidates for sixth man of the year has been trimmed down to two, Lamar Odom of the LA Lakers and Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks. There have been an argument if Odom would be considered as a candidate because he only played 43 games as a reserve compared to Terry who suited as a reserve for 68 games. But still it isn't Odom's fault that he started a lot of games because of Bynum's injury. Terry is insta-offense coming out of the bench and is considered one of the lethal scorers in the game. But Odom beats you in a lot of ways, not only offensively, but also on the boards. He also blocks and assists. So if you are to vote, who deserves the award most? Is it Odom or Terry?

I will go for jason terry.he is a legitimate reserve off the bench.i cannot go with odom because he doesn't come from the bench all the time.a super sub must come as a sub,not as a starter.

It's not Odom's fault that he's had to start some games due to injuries for the Lakers. Furthermore, he still meets the requirements for number of games off the bench vs starting. Terry is the Mav's 2nd best player and it's a luxury to have him off the bench, but I still think Odom has had a bigger impact for the Lakeshow.

I read this topic and I think that Terry should be the sixth man. Even got conformation from my brother. We both believe this because Odom, btw i'm such a Laker fan, but Odom can start. He has been pretty much a started. On the other hand Jason Terry isn't a starter and/or can't start like Odom can. So this is my opinion, the sixth player should always been an "off the bench kind of player" not on and off the bench.

The NBA rule says that as long as the number coming off the bench is bigger than starting then he is still viable for the sixth man award. As I said, Odom shouldn't be penalized for starting a lot of games. It was mainly because of the injuries Bynum sustained that kept him sidelined. I don't agree with you saying that Jason Terry can't start in games because if I ask you who is the Mavs legitimate shooting guard, I bet you're gonna answer Jason Terry. I don't even know who the starting shooting guard of the Mavs is.

I think between Odom and Terry it's Odom hands-down. The guy has really embraced the role of 6th man and has taken it seriously. He's so versatile when he comes in for the Lakers - he often poses more of a threat than their starters because of the matchup problems he offers. Terry's a great 6th man in the way he scores off the bench, but I'd be tempted to list other guys ahead of him, like Gortat for Phoenix or Thad Young for Philly. Those guys have also embraced the role and it's really changed things for their teams, particularly Young in Philly. Overall though, I still go with Odom. Productive 6th man on the best team . . . it's gotta be him.

I'll go with Lamar Odom coz he's a more versatile player than Jason Terry. Not only that, the Lakers wins the game with Odom's productivity.
