AIDS and its prevention.

AIDS is playing havoc in recent times. Every one is well aware of it & also knows that it has to be curbed with all efforts from all the available corners. But the draw back to do so is ignorance on one hand & misconception about the deadly disease of AIDS on the other hand. So not only governmental institutions but also different international & national agencies along with different voluntary organizations both at international & national levels & also at state levels should come forward & work with hand in hand. Do you agree with me on this proposal?

Your proposal actually has already been undertaken by the government.in fact,in the public hospital i previously worked for, the AIDS screening and treatment program has been successful for almost a decade now.they have been successful because of the effective information dissemination by the media in general.

You're right! Parents have a big role to play, parents should give their children guidance. Parent should teach their children self-control and a wholesome concept of morality and sexuality. Provided with the right information, the youth would know what to do and how to take care of themselves. With proper parental guidance, they can make the right decisions. The government does surveillance and HIV/AIDS prevention campaigns focusing on health education. Government plays a vital roles in health education just as a number of non-government organizations do. we should all get involved. We should all help in the information dissemination through health education. Health education means providing knowledge that will hopefully change a person's attitudes and behavior.

AIDS is probably the worst STD in existence. I remember way back in the early 80's when they so called discovered this STD. It was all over the news and every TV channel. As time went on though, I remember not seeing anymore information about it. It is still alive and kicking. The best way to prevent it is PROTECTION!!!!

Aids is a big problem of the government and the people also. I think awareness campaign must be made all the time. To all couples, infidelity is the best way to avoid Aids. Be responsible to your actions and its consequences also.

I agree that all avenues/organizations should come forward/together and educate to the highest level. However it is also a personal duty and responsibility for all consenting adults to learn, research and educate themselves too. All the agencies in the world offering information is helpful, however unless a person takes responsibility it will not matter. The disease continues to spread while people feel it will not happen to them. That one time is all it takes and many take that for granted. While AIS/HIV is not only transmitted through s@x, this is why the organizations need to continue to educate the precautions. So withing the proposal I definitely would like to see added that people also have to do their fair share if not more, after all people are the ones at risk.

Hi DoctorDidi, Absolutely. This deadly virus has taken too many lives to not be constantly in the news. Knowledge is power and knowledge comes through education. People trust their government and doctors, it is definitely time to get messages, publicly, out there about the risk factors, details, and treatment for HIV/AIDS. People are not as informed as they need to be.

Besides the fact that I wish you will listen to eminem's song, drips, I would like to add the fact that is best for anyone to stay as safe as possible from this disease. But facts say that most of the people who get this horrible disease have no clue what they do wrong. So the information should be given in early stage of a child and then repeated over the years, so when a person is 25 and it has more chances than ever to catch, will have a various knowledge about this.
