I presumed that mostly of the mylotters love writing and exercise this career not only as a hobby but in line of their profession. With this, may I know how active are you in writing and were you able to join in freelance writing? If so, is the earning/income worth to what you have intellectually shared?

Hi,Verity! I am considering opening some blogs recently.Yet,as a non-native,it can be a little hard for me to express myself in English well.I'm still trying to read more so that I can have a better command of the language. Many Chinese students find the most difficult parts for them to learn English are Writing and Speaking.I'm kinda okay with oral English, but I won't call myself good at writing.Still have so many to learn. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Babyann, yes, more reading and more practice really help us improve our writing skills. And, having a blog is a great idea since you could no longer limit your intellectual capacity and ability but rather provide a full extent of your knowledge and idea to became a competitive writer. Thanks again, Babyann.

Hi Verity Yes, I wanted to be a writer. But heck, English is not my first language and I could never write a great sentence. I have a few blogs that I have recently started and on old one that I have stopped writing into. I am here at MyLot for about over an year now and it is not the passion of writing that has forced me to stay here, it is my friends who have made me cling on to this lovely site. I love to share my views. As you will find, here are people from all across the world. And many maybe into the world of writing but yes, I think from MyLot, their writing carrer will not get a great boost.

Hi,theSids! Yeah,it can be hard for non-native speakers to write articles in English. We can express our thoughts and let others understand. But when it comes to writing with a good command of the language,it's another thing.I'm trying to read more English books recently,so I could know better about how to use some certain words, especially those synonyms. And yeah, for Mylot,my interest is more in my lovely friends here than writing. Have a wonderful night!

Hi TheSids and Babyanna, Thanks for the response, it is much appreciated. Yes, good command in English is one of the essential factor in writing. However, more reading and more practice will definitely help us improve our writing skills and am pretty sure, by doing so, we can be a good writer though it is not in a native English. Anyway, being here in mylot, posting discussions is another way of improving our writing skill. Hence, happy mylotting to everyone.

babyanna and Verity MyLot has some really great people they are quite friendly and guiding. Some will also tell you or rather help you improve your writing skills if they find out any mistake in your sentence. But some refrain too. Because as I mentioned, we are people from different backrounds, cultures and traditions, people have some reservations because they do not know how will their feedback be accepted. And yes Verity, MyLot can help you improve your writing skills if you are open to finding out knowledge and improving for good

Same as others here I love writing. I have posted my articles on a few paid writing websites. Now I consider writing as my career, my job. I have made recent income from the articles I published. My one article has made me $300 within 16 months and continue to make money for me. However I do have problem with my writing. I use too long time to write one article than English native speakers. If I can write one article per week I think I can survive with the money I earn, by the way I live in the UK.

Hello Sblossom, I'm not around so much, hence, this delayed response. Nice to hear about your writing career. Earning $300 per article, is considered a good income and that's great. Keep it up!

I have a total of three blogs that I try to keep up with. And I would like to start a couple more but I'm waiting for just the right inspiration! I also do two different newsletters for my ministry. One is emailed every week and the other is about every other week - they appeal to two very different audiences. Then I write on a couple of online sites and do a few independent writing contracts. It has taken about 2 years to even begin to generate a real income but it is finally increasing. i also write Bible study aids and guides... so it's kind of a career I enjoy - which makes it more of a hobby! I am also working on a couple of book ideas.. but those go real slow!!

Hi Mack, Sorry for the delayed comment as I'm not always around. Continue working on your blogs, it would help your writing career in addition to your other writing activity. Happy mylotting.
