Got an email notification that my account will be blocked in 3 days....

Yesterday morning as I opened my yahoo mail, I found this notification. Curiously enough, I opened it and downloaded the attached document which is in pdf form. Upon opening the document, i found nothing and too late to realize that it's some kind of a virus. Different kinds of viruses attacked our computer that my husband had to reformat it. I've learned my lessons though, never ever again open an email like that.

Thank for this info, i need to be careful too when see something like this. How your anti virus, does it detect or clean the virus? Like me i use Avast anti virus, it is good to protect when open website or downloading file. During the process when it detect the site or item that we download, it will automatically abort the connection before our computer infected.

Oh whengcat sorry to hear of the infected virus.
Gee if we cannot even trust an email anymore. Reformatting our PC is such a pain, but glad your hubby did so and all is well.
Gosh we have to worry so much these days with so many viruses attacking daily. It is to the point that we may not even open important documents because we can't even tell anymore if they are real or not.

Hi! there,
Yeah, I've learned my lesson very well there. It was so deceiving that's why I got curious and wonder why my account will be blocked. Whoever sent this was so clever enough to make sure that people like me will take time to open the mail. Good thing really that my husband knows how to reformat a pc....

Im sorry to hear that but I hope this makes you way more careful.Viruses are on the high so to make sure your safe if its not from someone you know or a familar company then dont open the email.
I doubt yahoo would send messages like that and it would show their email Im sure.

Not only this symptoms but also some times in chatting automatically some links will occur. If suppose in chatting, a link appear on display without notice of other end friend not to open that link. This is because of virus problem, some times one document appear 2 or 3 times, these are virus problems then we will format our system, thats the way to clear the problem...
