Oh, even though, I am currently living in a neighboring state. The Bulls fever is all around me. I can't help it.....I'm a native Chicagoan and I just can't get enough. I am minding my own business, finishing some editing jobs yesterday and I get a call from some of my friends. Where are they? In a bar, in the heart of the city. What are they doing? Watching the Bulls/Magic game and just going crazy. I put them on speaker phone and turned on the cable. We are screaming! We are hollering! They are drinking beer and I'm at home, prancing around my living room with a Pepsi Max. Despite having 21 turnovers and inconsistent play, we (the Chicago Bulls) have pulled off another upset. I am listening to the commentary. I get on-line to see what is being written. My friends are feeling great and celebrating and all I have to say is, "Yes, I think D-Rose is that good." The win over Boston was great, now Howard and the Magic fall. What's next? The playoffs! Oh yeah, I think so, Chicago may be the Beast from the East. Any takers?

The Chicago Bulls are for real my friend. They are a legitimate contender for the NBA title this year. With Derrick Rose leading the way, and Tom Thibodeau manning the sidelines, the Bulls are a threat for the likes of Boston and Miami. This years playoffs will be so exciting with all the match-ups being so critical. Orlando is a potential second round opponent for the Bulls and they showed that they can win against them on the road. As long as they continue playing tough defense, they can find a way to win even if everything ain't falling for them on offense.

Oh, you know Coach Thib should really get coach of the year but most are betting that Pat Riley and the Heat will pick up that trophy. We will see. He has been a key element in this renewed Bulls team. Of course, I am from Chicago and would love to see Coach T up against one of my favorite zen-meditating coaches of all time, Phil Jackson, who is just extraordinary. I think we are in for some exciting B-ball in the East and I think momentum is on our side!

I loved that you have brought up the notion of story-lines. Isn't that what life is made of? The story and who's telling it. I think we are in for an exciting playoff season and some new stories will be written or some more heroic feats of fate may override and shock us all. Me personally, I can't wait. I was talking to a Miami fan earlier today and they are convinced that this Heat team is going to show us all. I don't count them out but I stand by my opinion and still affirm that I do not think that this is their (the Heat's) year. There are Boston fans who are also in a huff, which I don't know why because everyone knows that you cannot ever count them out. Those boys come to the playoffs with veteran experience and a warrior mentality. What will the playoffs bring and what story will we tell? I think we have a lot to look forward to, my friend. I can't wait!

Exactly. I would love to see the Bulls against the Lakers this year in the finals. I'm a fan of storylines, just imagine Phil Jackson's swan song, in his last finals appearance, coaching the Lakers against the team where he won his first championship. Remember the Bulls first title with MJ? It was against the Lakers. What if history repeats itself? And don't forget about Kobe Bryant who is chasing MJ's six rings. It would be awesome if he wins number 6 at the expense of the Chicago Bulls, where I'm pretty sure MJ would be watching. That is one hell of a storyline.

Sorry to disagree with you but in my own opinion Chicago may be the number 1 seed in the east now but I think they are to young and lots of them is lack of experience in terms of playoff game. Yeah! Derick Rose is really a Beast in the court but I think he will be shut off by the defender on playoff. I mean his game will be not as good as the regular season. I think Miami and Boston has the high chance of getting a shot for the finals. ^_^

I am curious to see what the new Big 3 (Miami) will do in the post season. They actually may come alive and dominate but I still think they will not get past Boston. I think it is something about Boston's chemistry that makes them born to fight at playoff time. This stance will be tough for anyone to beat, including the Bulls. Orlando will surprise me if they pull off an upset in the East.

For me,all these three or 4 teams,if we include orlando, have equal shots at the title this year. Chicago has d-rose. They have the best defense in the league right now. Miami has their own 'big 3', and they are not just good, they are ferocious superstars. They could explode altogether in the postseason. Boston has the old 'big 3'. They are still solid at the postseason. It has brought wonders for them and i think, they are yet to pass the torch to other contender teams in the east. Orlando has shaken their roster to help complement dwight's dominance down the paint. So who knows.every team in the playoffs could be 'The One'.

It is no doubt the chicago bulls is the giant beast of the east right now. They got the best record of the league with 62 wins over 20 setbacks. The bonus? They have the homecourt advantage all throughout the playoffs and the finals as well. They are really a force to be reckoned with!

Yeah, the ongoing question is, can they perform as well in the playoffs? They are the team to beat and can everyone show up and show out "healthily,"....lol. Yes, Boozer, we need you. Joakim, you gotta play. All hands on desk. The defense strat is working, Coach T..keep up the good work and keep the team focused.

Yeah! It's true, Rose came to play in this season. I am a fan of Miami Heat and of course I am cheering for them. The Eastern Conference is hosting the best teams in my opinion. Boston, Chicago and Miami have to take out each other before the finals so only one of them has a shot for the title, but the way they have bin playing, they should all play in the finals :)) Go Miami!

Yeah, I think Miami will contend next year after they have settled and can play more cohesively as a team. Outstanding spanking on the Celtics though, that had to hurt. Despite the devastating loss, I think Boston will prevail and we're looking at a Boston-Chicago match-up. I have to agree with you on this point--It is quite exciting in the East. We have some "shut your mouth" talent to cheer for this year and I think this is the momentum that is going to lead to an Eastern Conference Title over Kobe and Company.

This year is really the era of the East. There is much greater competition in the East than in the west. Teams in the east are much loaded with talent. This is nothing to do with the west's superstars led by kobe. I just think the east has the edge in superstar quality because right now,the hype all favors the east.

I think that what's going on in the East is more than hype. It is just talent, exciting change and new energy. Nobody can deny that there is talent in the west and right now, I am enamored with Oklahoma because Durant is taking that team to a higher gound but other than that, it is more of the "been there, done that" variety. No one can deny Kobe or the Spurs but with so much energy in the East right now, the edge stands there.
