Durian, also known as the King of Fruits, usually grows in tropical countries such as in SouthEast Asia. It has a spiky outside covering. Its flesh is edible, has distinctive odor, very strong and penetrating. Some people loves the odor of durian, some others do not. They find it very offensive and overpowering. But once you taste it, it tastes like heaven. It is so yummy. Have you ever tasted durian? How do you comment about its odor?

I love Durian, but I have only ever eaten it after it has been frozen and then thawed out again as that is the only way that we get it where I live in Australia. Sometimes we buy it by the box where we get four durians and have to store them in our freezer until we are ready to eat them. My wife and other people I know have been to Thailand and eaten them fresh there. Not only are they tastier varieties than we get here, but being fresh, they are also nicer than ours. I would love to try them one day. The smell does not bother me anymore, but it did the first time that I smelt it. I have gotten used to it over the last fey years and now the smell just makes my mouth water for it!

Fresh durians are better than the frozen ones. It usually grows on tropical countries, such as in Southeast asia, specifically Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia. Yes! Durian really makes people who love eating it water for more of it! Glad you love durian! :)

Local farmers have tried growing it here, but even in controlled situations, it will not bear fruit. It just gets a little too cold in winter as we are only sub tropical, not tropical.
