It is seen that majority of men are humorous than women, may be it is reason of genes, biological reasons, or may be some other. Most of the worlds well known comedians are men. Especially some of best comedian like Charlie Chaplin, Mr.Bean, Jonny Depp, Jim Cary, Eddie Murphy, Laurel and Hardy, Richard Pryor, so on goes the list. I feel women are there but very rare. I had hardly seen any comic act of women. Is that, because much of men take things lightly. May be there are also some talents that most of women have.

Maybe its a talent which men have a natural aptitude to.I think humor is a serious business which requires a certain touch and timing.Maybe women are more serious. They probably are burdened with more responsibilities which hamper them seeing the lighter side of life.

I think so. Men can act something stupidly to make us laugh, whereas women tend to be ladies. And since that, men can talk about any kinds of jokes and therefore they are much more humorous than women. Women are still Conservative in this aspect. I love China

I feel making others laugh is something very much enjoyable, it makes other smile or laugh forgetting the bitter part for that movement. May be better than make one cry.

There are many men comedians that is true. I tend to notice a lot of funny actresses. So I wonder if its just what you consider humor. I see many woman that are sarcastically funny in television shows and in movies.

Hi SHAMRACK, No, comparatively women are more humorous than men. I mean the sense of humor is more in women than in men. A small event of oddity might send a women crazy with laughter but a man would not. The great names you have mentioned are professional and you know what professionals do. This is like some body on the road smiled at you and for the sake of courtesy you smiled bake. And if you say men are more humorous it is more artificial but in women the artificiality is much much less on in most cases it is nil.

May be it might depend how one view a situation, one may laugh at it as humor one may not as it differs in one's way of enjoying humor. Some do like quality humor some just laugh for sake as that it is noted as humor. There are certain situations some humor is just enjoyed by single even though other feel it as something serious. I feel most women get easily laughed.

Well you have a point I do notice that alot of women try to act so mature and look down on silly things as being to childish or as they say "Immature" I notice guys tend to be a bit more carefree and jokey then girls.but like always there are exceptions to the rules.

I do agree of that.. I also have male friends that are humorous. Base on my observation, that is the way of a men expressing their sweetness to the women. As what you can see, when women expresses their being sweet they tend to stick like glue to his partner than man.

I do not think that men are better humorous than women. There are women who are more humorous than man. The difference between the two is that men tend to have less worries or are better able to hide their worries under the guise of being humourous and generous and jovial.

There are different kinds of humor and the most often we would see the kind of humor that men are good at. My opinion, and this is just my opinion, men are good at their type of humor because it needs an audience. Generally speaking, men are blunt enough to say what they think in the most tactless but quite truthful manner. They are also not afraid to laugh at themselves or make themselves look stupid. Peace to all men. As for women, most women are critical of themselves wishing to look good for themselves and for others that it takes away the chance for slapstick humor. This is again, generally speaking. Women are more often into witty humor. They would laugh more with the kind of jokes that would make you think. Again, this is generally speaking, and this is just my personal opinion. Disclaimer: It is not my intention to offend anyone by that. Peace to all man/woman kind.

I think male comedians are funnier than female ones. I like to watch the stand up comedy tours on TV and I always find that I'm cringing when watching the women having a go. Most of the men are far funnier. There are quite a good few female comedians, but I think that the kind of comedy that is popular is one of 2 main genres. Slapstick, like mr bean, where someone's getting hurt, or messy or just acting a fool, and its just not socially acceptable for women to be behaving like that. The other is standup, where people like to hear crude or taboo comments, and again, women are just not socially supposed to be speaking like that. So whilst the audience wants to be a little shocked as well as getting a good laugh, I think that hearing women telling disgusting jokes is just a little too much shock.

It may be seen as a majority that men are more humorous than women because they only take surveys based on famous people. It's unfair. Women can be extremely funny too and not all of the funny women are working as stand-up comedians. They just have a different profession.

I always liked hanging out with guys better than women because men are easier going. That is probably why men are able to be funnier than most women, although there are some funny women out there. Most men are use to joking in more harsher forms, so it is harder to offend them compared to women. Hang out in a group of guys and you will see, they clown each other all day long. Then hang out in a group of women, and you will see the emotions flare up quick. I think a lot of women are very emotional and sensitive, and it makes it harder for them to cut loose and not take everything personal, but I have met men like this too! Trust me, I'm a woman and I try to balance my humor and emotions, but at times it can even be hard for me too.
