How to add advertisement on Wordpress

I m trying to put the ads on wordpress blog bt its not working.
Can u tell me what to do for that.
Why ads are not working on wordpress.I have put them on other site and there it is working.
Just wordpress making the problem.
Plz sort it frnds.........
