Washing Colored Underwear?

How do you wash colored underwear, if you have some? Do you wash it with your white underwear and hope it's colorfast, with similarly colored clothes, or in a wash by itself?

I normally handle colored underwear quite similarly with clothes. I will not mix them with the light colored underwear such as those white in color. I would hand wash them separately and make sure they are not in contact because I don't want my underwear to get stained.

I divide by putting heavy materials like blue jeans together, then colored, then whites. Since I use a little bleach in the whites, I do the colored underwear in with the colored shirts. I will do light colored together then darker. I really had to think about how I did this because it is something I just do automatically. Wish I had a robot to fold and put them away aftwards though.

yes it has to be separated because if not and you put the coloreds with whites all your whites will be a faded off color. Especially if you put reds with whites..it turns them pink. Yes I speak from experience..lol hubby had pink boxers..lol

94% of my panties are white. 100% cotton. The colored ones are boxers that I usually wash with the bed sheets in the washing machine.
