Intuition: Is it innate or a gift?

They say its the female species that has this so-called intuition thing. Is this something relative to magic? or ESP? Dictionary meaning provides that it is "a power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference"..whoa! sure is something to think about. I had several episodes in life where I unconsciously applied intuition both in real life and at work. These I myself cannot find any explanation what prompted me to decide or act because of simple gut feel and turned out to result that will change way of life. Like going to a place where I don't even think of going because I am at the office-tied to work from 8am to 5pm. I filed a leave and decided to go to this mall where I don't frequently visit and come face to face to see your special someone is with somebody else... How about the time when I decided to block a card (I used to work before as a fraud analyst in a bank) just by mere looking at a simple & single actual transaction that turned out to be a case of counterfeit credit card? That saved for both the bank and the cardholder the remaining available credit limit being stashed away by the fraudster... Now folks, do you have this too? Is it something natural because everybody is born with it or a gift?

I think intuition is something that everybody has but some have a stronger connection to it then others. There's also something warning us whether it's a strong gut feeling or something us but there's always something that warns us. But, some people chose to be naive and not listen because they don't understand or they're confused. Some people just know deep inside, there's something warning them and telling them that it's wrong.
