What people really think

There are some days where I almost wish for the ability to look into the minds of some people and see what they are really thinking. I say almost, because ignorance is bliss and perhaps it is best not to know. Still, in a morbid sense, I am quite curious. Perhaps for a day, it would be intriguing to be able to hear the real thoughts of others. The things that get blocked and never would come out of their mouth. Just for a day though. Any more is overkill.

Hi megamatt, I too wonder sometime if other people feel the same way as I do or taste as I taste. We can just make inference and hypothesis but can not get into other person's mind. So strange it is that we human beings are given power of knowledge and everything but something were suspended knowing that these human things would make worse use of them. We wish if we able able to read people and their mind but have you thought about the consequences?

So now you realize that it is better not knowing people from inside out.

I really can understand the fear of people hearing your thoughts. Then again, there are a few choice thoughts that are going through my head, that could potentially scar a person for life. Maybe, maybe not, I don't know, but it is really not something all fluffy and pleasant that a sane person really should be hearing. Thoughts only cannot hurt because they cannot be heard. Again, there is a rather heavy factor of morbid curiosity. Something that is going to push me into trying to tap into the mind of an individual. It really can be quite frightening but it could really explain a lot of things. Perhaps explain a bit too much with some people. There are a lot of things about life that are just best unknown. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I think reading peoples minds for a day would be fun. However, I don't know that I would want someone to read my mind while I'm at work. I think of some bizzare things when I'm processing claim. For example, I was processing a claim for a woman 105-years old, not a joke. It was for the Ambulance, all I could think the hole time was I bet this was her last trip to the hospital. Just wrong, but kind of funny too. Best Wishes!

It could potentially lead to some disturbing and uncomfortable situations to say the very least. It really does scare me what some people might be thinking. Then again, it does really scare me with what some people say out loud. I mean, when you think about it, there are a lot of people who have some choice things that they cannot keep to themselves. Just imagine the things that they do not say out loud. So yeah, it would be interesting. As I mentioned before, I'm just not sure it would be the good kind of interesting. It would be a slightly terrifying situation to say the very least. It is rather potentially ugly and agitating. An interesting thing for a few hours, but potentially disturbing. Then again, I'm sure a lot of thoughts that go through my mind would potentially be described as disturbing by some people. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I'm positive some of the things I reframe from say would cause and uproar. You are right about people not reframing for say somethings. I think they just like to stir the pot. I can't imagine the thoughts going through their heads either. Scary. Best Wishes!

Hi megamatt... I could understand the wish to read the mind of others as I get these kind of times, too. But having the ability to read minds could be both a blessing and a curse, I think, as I would not want to hear negative thoughts about me in another person's mind, true or not. So yes, ignorance is bliss. But we could approximate what goes on in another person's mind through body language taken into context. This could be interesting, like solving a puzzle. Happy Easter!

Both a blessing and a curse, that does really sum everything up to say the very least. It does almost scare me when I think of the things that could come from the reading of the minds of another person. One one hand, it might make our lives easier. On another hand, it really, really makes you wonder how much more it could complicate life. There are a lot of things that we are better off not knowing. In the end, I think that there are some positives, but there are many negatives. Many, many negatives to say the very least. Therefore, not everything is clear cut in this situation. Still it just proves that there is a pretty good reason why we are not able to read the minds of other people. In the end, we are just better off not knowing. Not that it would not be intriguing but perhaps a bit too much so.Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

It sounds like a cool power, but what happens if there is a mental overload (hearing many thoughts all at once)? That would drive me crazy. If you're talking about one mental voice at a time, I still wouldn't want to know what people are thinking, I think that would give me some of complex or something. Well, to each own.

See that is the downside of the entire thing. That is really the thing with everything that is interesting. There is some intriguing qualities but when you think about it more and more, there are a lot of potential horrors with something. Just because this is a worst case scenario, does not mean it is possible to happen. Especially if you are in a crowded mall or something, that would really be scrambling on the old brain. I mean, there are many times where I feel like my brain is being taxed to its limit by the thoughts that are going through my own mind. Therefore multiple it a hundred times or more and that could drive even a stone cold sane person completely and utterly out of their mind. It is really a harsh situation, when one thinks about it a lot. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I would be curious to be able to read people's thoughts just for a day,but I suspect that if such a possibilty ever becomes reality one day I will never want to do that again because I will probably be horrified of the secret thoughts I will discover in the minds of others,so I think it's better not to have this chance;after all,I found out there's someone capable of reading my thoughts,I would probably not be able to think anymore,I would be paralyzed with fear.

that is a very nice ability. I would like to try it out too. But then I maybe hurt because of the bad things that I can hear from the minds of my friends especially those backstabbing friends.

In the end, the truth really can hurt. There are things that might be obvious based on some clues around us. However, there is no thing that really ties everything together. However, there are going to be many things that are going to tie it together that could be gathered in the thoughts of the people around us. Even if it is something that a person is not proud of, it is hard to unhear something when we hear it. The same thing would really occur from thoughts a lot of the time. Thoughts can be a dangerous thing. There are a lot of things that we hear in our day to day life, that we really do not want to hear. Thoughts would be multiply that by several times and we would learn a lot. Perhaps we would learn much more than we ever needed or wanted to know. It is a rather ugly situation to say the very least. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I think that would be cool too but the truth is that I don't want to hear something bad about me or someone else's secrets. The less I know the better. I would feel like a parent reading my child's diary or something. In that diary uncovers all these truths and dirty secrets that I can't handle all at once. That's just my humble opinion.

The less we know the better is very true. Its intriguing but it is almost too intriguing to say the least. I'm sure that there are many, many, thoughts that we are really better off not really knowing. There are many things, secrets that people are going to keep beyond the grave and while I'm curious, at the same time, I would be rather afraid. It is one of those situations where I am in two minds about. Curiosity can be a great thing, but this is one step of being too curious. I think that a day would be more than enough but it could be considered to be a curse for a lot of people. Therefore, there are just too many things unknown, that should really be unknown. There is a good reason why there are many things unknown. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Have you ever seen the movie what women want? If you haven't, you should watch it because it is about exactly what you are talking about. Ever since seeing that movie, I have wanted to hear peoples thoughts for a day as well. But I would like to be able to screen the ones I hear and just pick certain people to hear them from....like my significant other. I think this could make or break relationships but either way, it would be for the better because at least you know the truth.

Never seen that movie, but I've heard of it. There are a lot of reasons why a lot of thoughts are left unsaid. Because it is something that we are never really meant to hear. It is really scary to think what we thought. And for those people who don't hold back and really give their opinion, just imagine for one second what they might be thinking, that they don't say. That really can be frightening when you think about it. When you hear something, it is hard to unhear it a lot of times. There have been so many times where a few sharp words have destroyed entire relationships. Thoughts would be the same way. Yes, you can hear the truth, but the truth can hurt. And to have it completely unfiltered and uncensored, who really knows. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

There would be quite a number of interesting thoughts to say the very thing. Some of them intriguing, some of them disturbing, some of them sad, and some of them, I really don't know how I would describe what they are thinking. Many of them are going to be thoughts that I would be better off not hearing, as they are going to think some things that I am not going to do. Most certainly there are going to be a lot of worries that they are going to keep underneath their hat. There are going to be far many interesting comments that they are going to not allow to slip out and speak out loud. There is a wide variety of comments that are going to be intriguing to say the very least. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

being able to go through the minds of other people and know what they are thinking would really be interesting.. but as what you've said, it also goes with pros and cons.. :)

It would be interesting for sure. Not exactly its going to be a good thing. Then again, there are many things that are interesting that they are interesting because of the fact that they can be rather slightly disturbing. There are a fair amount of cons for sure, but there is just a lot of that will satisfy my curiosity. Granted, it might be a morbid curiosity, but there you have it. In the end, it is just a one time thing that I would not want to think about every single day. However, a look in the mind and the thoughts of others can really be borderline disturbing sometimes. I know a few people that it would really be better off not knowing what exactly they are thinking. Well most of the time. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
