When I first joined my husband's family after marriage, I learned that they have a tradition during Holy Week of heading a "Pabasa" or the reading of the passion of Christ in a singing pattern, most Filipinos would know what I mean. They done that for several years until my in-laws are becoming weaker so they have to stopped doing it. This year, since my youngest is a very good reader now, they started to introduced it to them. They proudly finished reading the book with 213 pages and I think they feel good about it. Maybe, when they become a little older, we could start the tradition again. Have a Blessed Holy Week to all Mylotters!

The Pabasa is not an ordinary feat. It takes real passionate and devout readers to do the Pabasa. Your children must be gifted. But do guide them. The story of the passion is so intense I have heard of many stories that Pabasa readers are really crying when they sing the suffering of Jesus Christ.
