Of What Movie would You Love To Watch a Sequel?

An endless number of movies produced one sequel after the other (Shrek, Toy Story, Rambo, Home Alone, Die Hard, Alien, American Pie, Star Wars, LOTR, TheGodfather,...) yet there are a few movies out there which had a decent following and box-office sucess yet a remake or sequel was never considered. To name only a few, how about 13 Monkeys 2, Blade Runner 2, Forrest Gump 2? If you could make a wish list, what would you put on it? Perhaps one of the producers/writers sees this and revives a shelved project for a remake?

Back in January Keanu Reeves mentioned that the writers were putting together a story for two more sequels both of which were suggested would be made in 3D. Since then I have heard little on the Matrix sequel front.

I also thought that there would be a more "satisfactory" ending of the giant machine, like blowing it all up or another, baby machine starting somwhere in a parallel matrix universe. Well, perhaps writers run out of ideas.....

I'm glad you liked it too. I watched on the big screen as well as at home. Hopefully there will be a sequel, but I doubt it.

I am almost certain that your wish for a sequel will come true. Whether those will be anymore exiting or not, I can't tell of course. Chances are are that they are pretty similar to their respective forerunners.

Anchorman 2 is what i would really like to see. comedys tend to be easier to do sequels as they are less likely to ruin the original. there have been some pretty shoddy sequels....."Highlander" to name but one. i also like the concept of prequels. some prequels have been better than the original. in the 1970's "raise the titanic" was a pile of nonsence but in the 1990's "titanic" was not so bad. i am looking forward to "titanic 3" where it is 2112 and Jack is found in an iceberg and goes on a jack the ripper style killing spree and only the police detective great, great, great grandson of the captain of the titanic can stop him.

It is very true, a lot of movies that deserve a sequel never seem to get one whereas the movies that do not need a sequel always get one. I feel some movies that deserve a sequel would be The Vampire's Assistant (I loved the book series, and I feel the bad marketing of the movie as well as the lack of decent fan base was the reason it was lacking in the box office), and this movie is fairly recent, but The Other Guys should get a sequel since it was a very funny movie. Also, I think Hancock (The one with Will Smith) should get a sequel, it was a pretty great movie in my opinion.

I agree, especially with Hancock 2. This movie must have cashed it a fortune also the Tom Cruise sci-fi flick titled Minority Report (directed by Steven Spielberg). All those had open endings and a sequel would certainly do well at the box office.

As a rule I don't like sequels especially when a movie brings closure and so a sequel is just an exercise in money grabbing. But I would love to see a sequel to "Jumper" because the whole movie was made in such a way as to set up the rules for a second with some unanswered questions to provide the link. Without a sequel "Jumper" feels almost like half a movie. As for a sequel to "Forrest Gump" well for years they have been knocking about the idea of adapting the book "Gump and Co" into a movie but nothing seems to be happening on that front, although I would love them to do it.
