MTV - Music Television or not?

mtv is most definately not msic television anymore. and it is weird because it wasnt even that long ago when they actually used to play music. that used to be my favorite channel. now it is just stupid to me. the vast majority of the shows are stupid and dont even have the slightest thing to do with music. it is pretty ridiculous.the only times i used to see music videos on there was early in the morning when i was getting ready for school. now i will just watch vh1 or bet if i want music on a regular cable channel

I can remember watching it in the early 90's at my grandmother's house when we slept over. We didn't get cable at our house then. It used to be almost all videos. Now it's a video hour in the morning then the rest shows. I'll admit some of their shows I watch, but I wish they would still have videos on it since they are a Music TV station.

I remember when MTV first came on the air in 1982. The first video I saw was U2's New Year's Day although I believe the first video MTV aired was the Buggles' Video Killed The Radio Star. Oh yeah, it definitely was revolutionary. MTV is nothing like it used to be. Music videos 24/7.

I feel exactly the same as you. I think they should focus on music more. That's why they're called Music Television. They're not called Reality TV.

YES, YES and YES! My hate show is MTV's moving in..I just don't see the point but all the other reality shows too except for teen mom, 16 & pregnant and that one show that changes High School students life like they were on recollection or something..they're good shows coz they serve their purpose.. I just hope MTV would reconsider reviewing their shows.

MTV is a discusting station now. You hardly ever see music anymore, not that I watch music videos anymore anyways. MTV does nothing now but feed garbage to our teens and give them a warped sense of the world. I have many other thoughts about consiracy theories and the role that MTV plays into them and do not believe there is anything good about MTV. Back when MTV only played videos I remember rushing home from school to see Thriller by Michael Jackson for the first time. You could hear tvs all over the neighborhood playing it all at the same time. It was great! Now it is only "M..uch T..rash V..ision"
