What is your definition of success

I think success is whatever you want it to be. Some people argue success is money, or success is doing something no one else has done before. I believe if you choose a goal, and succeed at it, you are successful. Seems pretty straight forward. Thoughts?

I have the same thoughts as you have. Success are goals that are accomplished in a satisfactory manner. It does not have to come over failure first before succeeding, it could also mean doing it for the first time. In addition to the definition of success, it is something you've done or reached to your expectations.

I agree. It is not always about careers and money. If you become happy on what you do and make other people as well on the process then you are successful. I once heard someone say that careers are a 21st century invention. I think its true. This just make things a little more complicated.

I think success is when you cross the finish line with your arms in the air and you're jumping up and down and you're happy. To me I don't think somebody is successful when they have a lump sum amount of money in the bank and they work in a prestigious building. I think success is when they complete a goal of something they had been yearning for years. When they complete these goals, they are happy with themselves and they are happy with their lives.

I agree, and I don't think there is one definition of success. Success is whatever you want it to be and whatever you choose for it to be. For me, success is being happy, but a lot comes with being happy for me! To be happy, I do need financial stability so money is a part of it for me. Being happy also requires me being there for my family and friends, and doing what is necessary to make them happy. A big part of it is me being proud of what I am doing and feeling like I have achieved something.

I think I have to agree with you on this. Some people do not strive for wealth, ergo, their idea of success is far different from the career-oriented person's. I believe that if you can achieve a spot in life where you are happy and not always under a constant strain of stress (financial or otherwise) they you are probably a successful person. My 2 cents. ;)

I think the same. I have several goals, being economically good, having the simple and warm house I ever wanted, working on what I love and can travel to those places I always wanted to meet. When I can reach all those goals, I will consider myself sucessful.
