Hi mylotters, I'm a college student in China. I got my passport several days ago. I need a passport because i love travelling very much and i plan to travel overseas. It is easy to apply for a passport in Chia. Just bring your ID card and your birth certificate to the relevant department and fill in a form, take a photo and then what you have to do is waiting. If you don't have time to get it, you can choose to mail it to your home. It is convenient. Passport for China expires in ten years. There was an interesting story when i told my family i wanted to apply for a passport. My parents are about 60 years old and they are a little conservative especially my mother. I could remember what she said clearly when she knew my idea, she was a little nervous and said sadly:" oh, dear, you want to leave me and perhaps you will never come back." Hehe...Then I explained what a passport really was and made her relieved. Do you have a passport and do you have something interesting to share when you apply for it? Have a good day!

I have got a British passport. It isn valid for 10 years but my children's passports are only valid for 5 years. I have got quite a lot of different stamps in my current passport which is my third passport that I have had in my lifetime. My second passport had evidence of a trip to Israel in it. A number of countries wouldn't have let me in with that in it. When I went there I asked them to stamp a piece of paper. However I got at the border when I got my visa for Jordan stamped. My first passport had a hard cover. I got some photos done for a visa application and I folded them when the photos came out of the machine. I looked at them and they then made me look like a ghost. I was still able to get my visa to visit Hungary. I had a working holiday visa for Australia in my passport. They stamped my date of entry and exit on it.

Hi happyforever, I do have have a passport and it's 3 years old. I had to get one when i planned to study in Australia. In order to go through all the Visa procedures, passport was essential. We have to a lot of waiting before the passport comes into hand in our country. You need to take Citizenship certificate, birth certificate and passport size photos to the passport department. If there is a queue then it can take hours just to submit the form and documents. Once you are done submitting all documents then you fill in the form. It can take upto a week or even a month for the passport to be ready! It depends on the number of applicants. Getting passport is not that difficult but ya there is some waiting to do.
