Osama was more than just a mastermind for his troops. He was also the social glue that kept them together. Some troops may be because of the financial rewards while others have been influenced by Bin Laden. I believe with their leader gone, the troops moral is severely down right now. Some may surrender because they lost their purpose. Some may surrender and some may switch sides for protection. Their leader is already gone so I think there isn't any point anymore to continue their operation. Unless maybe there would be someone better who will take Bin Laden's position.

Osama bin laden is a multi-millionaire and it is his money thats been used to fund the terrorist activities by al qaeda. with him gone, there will be less funds for this terrorist group.
