its a good news for the PWI. they were struggling to find a win even though they have many star players. the lost 7 in a row. I think Dada should be given the captaincy. He is a great leader. This change will boost the PWI

ya no doubt that he is a good captain. I think it will be given to to ganguly sooner or later. Yuvis team has many match winners, but dont play as a team. I think DADA's man management skill become usefull for the PWI..

I think so, at least DADA is an experienced player. He may help the struggling side. There were a rumour that DADA will be taken by Subrata Roy, but somehow he later changed his decision. Later for replacement of injured Angelo Mathews there were some name but DADA was ignored as they wanted some all rounder and PWI wasn't suffering like this then. Now, after losing back to back six games, PWI is virtually out of IPL, i mean out of contender of semi finals i.e. play-offs but if somehow they can manage to win all the matches and DADA performs well, say several half centuries, many sixers and bring back from tough situations, it will not only create a history but he can reply to all the humiliations he got in the IPL auction and he can get new oxygen to carry on with the cricket.

Ya ganguly was avoided many times by many teams in the auction. and now many teams tried to have him in the team. anyway lets hope for a good entertaining cricket from ganguly. surely this is a good news for ganguly fans and aiting eagerly to watch his super shots with great perfection.

There may be several reasons behind ignoring Ganguly. I heard when SRK was determined not to retain or buy him for KKR, other franchises too decided not to take him to make SRK happy. I don't know whether it is true or not, it may be just a rumour but they knew it is not so easy to handle him. There are some ego problems, moreover his attitude in the dressing room is not desirable. The Australian coaches didn't want the fate like Greg Chappell or John Bucchanan. So they simply pretested to take in their team in the auction as PWI and KXIP owner Subrata and Priety wanted him in the auction but both have Australian coaches so they didn't want to go against the coaches. Now PWI is in real trouble so their coach didn't protest as he wants to save his back, as IPL is all about rich cash.

ya surely IPL is the tournament where money decides many thing. DADA may have problem with some australian coach, but it des not tell thathe will be like that with every australian coach. and kochi, punjab pune tried to have him and finally pune won the former indian captain. surely he has his own thinking and wishes to implement his thoughts, dont forget that he was the best captain for india till dhoni took the charge. and he too have made many record, reached the finals of worldcup too. he is a good player also, specially in t20 format he will be very handy if he finds the form. and its not the coach who plays in the field and its the players who change the match. So I would be very glad to watch ganguly batting.

Ganguly joining Pune warriors at this late hour may not help much. The tournament has crossed the halfway. Ganguly is no doubt a good bat and a bowler too. But what we have seen in this tournment players like Sangakkara, Dilshan, Sehwag and many other strong batsmen have not shown their consistency that is needed. Ganguly may not be an exception. The tournament shows there are lot of swings in scoring patterns. So I think PW will benefit all that much to reach the top 4.

surely PWI is clearlt out from the play off. but now they expect to win atleast 3 more matches in the tournament and keep their team in a good position. and i feel that ganguly will help in that.

hi mate yeah definitely PWI pune warriors morale will very high to get dada in their team the question not about whether DADA performs well or not but the thing his presence in the team will surely increase the confidence of the team pune and we will see the difference today if he plays

its pathetic that yuvi didnt pick DADA in the match against mumbai. his inclusion in the team would have changed the whole match. As you said its not about how he plays but its the presence of the big name change the level of the match.

Its a good decision taken by Yuvi to not to pick dada in the team and there's nothing pathetic about it. And as for yesterdays result goes Pune is responsible for their position. They first need to adjust their batting order and for me it should look like below- ryder,m pandey,utthapa,yuvraj,farguson,... They should include farguson in middle order to strengthen the batting.

if you say that they have good bench strength then why did pune bought DADA? and DADA is agood player thats well known fact. If Ganguly was included in the team, then morale of the team would have changed.

Yes,good to see Dada is back in the IPL but i don't think it can bring luck to them as he is away from cricket for long time now and also Pune is at he bottom of the table and looking for an early exit after get defeated by MI last night.

hello arnab. pune will not make into play off, thats a fact, but that doesnt mean that ganguly will not play well for pune. although they are facing the exit, they have 14 matches. only four teams will qualify for play off, so ganguly can play for pune and improve their position.

ok you are right but dada is a very good cricket player who is also a best captain of india so dada will give big support to pune .dada is not away from cricket he is only away from indian team now

Time will tell what happens to Pune after the inclusion of dada but personally i don't think it's a bad move from Pune to include a man who is far away from cricket doing some quiz shows in TV. And also dada has don his cricket gloves only once in this year and that too for a charity match. I also don't understand why Pune are not trying their bench strength as they have players like Marsh,Farguson,Paine in their team instead of trying Smith,Ryder and Co.

ganguly was a formae captain of india and he has played well so surely he will give support to pune which will lead pune from bottom to up

Well Ganguly must be given the captaincy instead of VC role. Without Captaincy, he generally do not like to play is utmost. Whatever, Ganguly inclusion will not make much differences. When players like Yuvaraj Singh who has contributed a lot for World Cup winning India team, is not able to do anything for Pune Warriors then what can Ganguly do for PW. I am not sure about his batting form and his not playing cricket from long time and suddenly his inclusion might make difference is something a big question mark for me.. Only time will tell.

ya time will tell us what ganguly can do in PWI. but surely his experience will be very much usefull for the team. and about captaincy, there are lot to decide on that, although he may be former indian captain, many wont accept ganguly as captain in the first match for PWI.

As you know by now that Saurav Ganguly is the captain of PWI. i felt that this was the best thing to happen to Team PWI. Besides being a great team it also gives Team PWI the much needed leadership and experience that Saurav brings to the table. His influence is already clearly visible in the team and definitely team PWI are serious contenders to win IPL 5.

venkit i really feel that its all too late for pwi..i think if they wanted to get back some senior player like saurav they should have done it much earlier because now at this stage when they are on the verge of going out of the tournament and even ganguly's comeback wont resolve their problem as he hardly has any cricket under his belt from last one year..so tough task ahead for them...lets see whether ganguly can transform their team and can bring the belief in them...i really want them to get into top 4..pwi is one of my favorite team..:) KEEP MYLOTTING REGARDS :D

now they cannot get into the position to participate in play off for finals. but Ganguly in the team will boos the confidence of the team and it will help PWI to improve their position in point table. And as a Ganguly fan I belive that there is a lot of good cricket left in him.

Dear Venkit, Yes it will surely boost the confidence of the Pune Warriors. Ganguly is always a good addition to any team. But I do think that it will not make much of a difference to the end result, because it is a bit too late. Pune Warriors are in the bottom and it is highly unlikely that they will qualify for the playoffs..!!!! Whatever changes or additions they had to make, they should have done it long time back...!!! Share your views... Balu.

surely its very late to buy DADA and now the chances for PWI to get into the semifinals for IPL is very very narrow, almost out of the tournament. but they can improve the position in the point ranking table, Ganguly may be helpfull to do that. And I wonder why the teams initially avoided players caliber of Ganguly in the auction and picking now! this could have been done in the auction, then this may not have been the situation for PWI...

After dropping DADA in the auction now many teams are trying to get him and finally PWI got the tiger. Hope that Tiger will roar against mumbai and lets have a good challenge between sachin and ganguly.

surely experience is always handy, and cannot be bought. KKR in this season has picked some good talented players and playing well. but not only KHAN many other team including this pune neglected DADA and now many tried to have him in the team and finally Pune won the race. Kochi team was also trying hard to have him in their team, my question is what was the team management doing during the auction??
