Fire defenseless firemen

Firefighters in Philippines - as you can see on this pictures, firefighters are having a hard time to contain the fire in the squatters area. they don't have much equipments with them. government doesn't give enough funds for our local firefighters.

Firemen are our last hope when it comes to nature and human made calamities since here in our country they practically do everything except for going to war. How come that these heroes are defenseless from the things that they are protecting us from? Here in the Philippines, firemen that have complete fire coats are only half of the firemen that are in the actual fire station and for the protective breathing devices for infiltrating flaming buildings only 3 are available for each station. So I leave you with this question how can these heroes protect us from blazing fires and wraths of man and nature if they only have faith and bravery to protect themselves? What do you think?

I don't quite get what u mean here. It's only right that firemen has their own fighting equipment and gears, because they are the ones fighting the fire. ON top of that, those stuffs don't come cheap, and it's the responsibility of the government to ensure every firemen is properly equipped. When the government is not doing its job well, citizens suffer. That's why one should elect their government properly.
