Just this morning after the mass, our parish priest announced that in accordance with the celebration of Mother's Day, they will give a small gift to us mothers. So he requested all the mothers to go infront of the altar. As he acknowledged the importance of mother's role, he then prayed for us, blessed and showered us with holy water as the song "Sa Ugoy ng Duyan" (In Cradle's Sway) was playing on the background. It was a very heartwarming experience having been given such importance...definitely a very special gift to receive on Mother's Day!

This has been the tradition of the Catholic church every year. That's why even if it was typhoon signal no 2 in our place, i went to church at 8;00 am yesterday. I didn't wake up my husband and daughter anymore, because it was so rainy and i know they will say it's an excuse not to go to church.
Anyway, i went in front of the priest together with all the mothers and we were blessed too with a prayer and the Holy Spirit. It felt nice . . .really!

Hi whengcat
Was that the sweetest thing,
A blessing in lieu of Mothers Day was a sweet blessing indeed. I bet all the moms were so proud and all the members were so proud to see them blessed.
I hope you had a wonderful day. Happy Mothers Day!
